Looking at an 02 Jayco Greyhawk 24ss later today.....any watchouts or watchfors I should be looking at?? First class c after too many years in a popup.....sure hope this works out. Thanks in advance

Look out for leaks...
Warping of the paneling, or mold is always a tell tale sign of leakage from the roof.

Tires...if the tires have dry rot, then you will have to replace. Maybe they will lower the price.

Ask to see that everything works or if it doesn't that they give you a list of things that are not working. How is the engine? How is the generator? Turn on the air conditioning, but also turn on the heater even in the summer to see if they are working.

Climb on the roof and take a look around. Holes? tears? Old caulking?

Of course look for leaks from the tanks as well. Ask to put some H2O in the fresh water tank to check for leaks.

Good advice in your post and in the attachment for anyone buying a used rv of any type. My neighbor bought one against my advice and found many surprises when he got it home and we started going over it.

We really like the length - it's perfect for any type of camping. How many miles does it have? When we were contemplating "used", too-high-mileage was a concern. Enjoy your experience.

Go over it with a fine-tooth comb. Bring a powerful flashlight or three. Go up, go under. Open up every door. Push, poke, prod. Get down on all fours and do the entire inside.

Don't be afraid to spend an hour.
A seller who knows RV's won't mind.

IMHO, you're primarily looking for water, or anything that looks loose/missing/worn. Soft spots that shouldn't be soft.

Fire up all of the appliances. Start the 'fridge when you get there.
Check the date codes on the tires, look for odd wear patterns.

Stuff off the top of my head, based on when we looked at a 2014.

Thanks for all the info....we looked it over and brought it home!!!! Really cant wait to use it but Im sure the first few times will be right here at home. Although not our first motorhome its certainly the first with any extras....the last was a 1978 Dodge Lindy , bout has bare bones has it could be! For the record this one is a 2002 Jayco Greyhawk 24SS. 36,000 miles. On a chevy 3500 chassis with a 454 cid engine. sounds like a sales pitch but was truly owned by a "older" couple who never even had kids in it!! So far so good....Im sure Ill be asking tons of ?s so please bear with me!!
