So I had been trying for a couple days to do a last minute Memorial Day camping trip. I could not find any campsite close to my home at all. I drove out to one campsite that said they had availability online but you could not book it less than 24 out unless you were there... The camp host was putting up a "campsite full" sign up as we drive in.
I had one more hope. There is an Army Corp lake about 10 minutes from my house but all spots are first come first serve. So I showed up the next morning at 11:00am and I got a site. I found myself wishing that I had a boat as well. It really got me thinking. This campsite was only 10 minutes from my house. It would be really easy to make two trips up (one trip with the boat and the other with the camper).
