microwave tripping GFI

So yesterday, the DW went to use just the kitchen timer of the microwave, she heard a click and the microwave went completely dead. (The microwave itself was not on, just the timer). The digital panel went blank as well as the light inside the unit. I came in and checked all the breakers thinking perhaps one had tripped. None had tripped, but I reset them all anyway to no avail. I was perplexed for a moment, then I remembered reading somewhere that the GFI breaker in the bathroom has other things connected to it other than just the bathroom outlet. I reset it and the microwave came back to life. First time this had happened. Has anyone had this issue?
