New to this forum but not RV life. We just purchased a 2025 Pinnacle 38FLGS that we now are full timers. Love the rig.
What is Jayco's take on warranty work being done by certified mobile techs. Our dealer (Blue Compass) says that it is not possible.
Just wondering before we actually "need" some work done. Most smaller things I take care of myself but you never know.

Jayco typically only allows dealers to do authorized warranty work. You do not have to use Blue Compass either, any Jayco dealer can do the work.

The mobile tech you want to use will let you know if they can do it or not. I have not had any luck with Jayco authorizing a mobile tech when you are close to a brick and mortar RV dealer.

I have a 24 Northpoint 382flrb. I used mobile tech a few times a day Jayco pays for it . They prefer a dealer but will cover mobile tech. I also purchased from Blue Compass.

How did you get approval for the mobile rv tech. ? What was the process for payment? Or was it a mobile tech from the dealer? I contacted my dealer they told me to contact Jayco and their answer was take it to the dealer that was the only way and that if I used a mobile tech I would void the warranty on the system they worked on.

When purchased, dealer had to deliver as I don't have anything big enough to tow rv. Told Jayco it's set up permanently and I don't have ability to move it. Maybe they made an exception for that reason. But they have been paying. And it's a private rv tech not associated with a dealer. They have worked on it at least 3 times and Jayco paid each time. You have to call Jayco before they do any work. They can pay rv tech directly but I always pay the tech and Jayco reimburses me.

Call Jayco service and get to warranty department for service in your area, don't go to Blue Compass, or get approved for service work prior and they will cover it if pre approved by warranty department.

We had a problem with the mounting bracket for an awning discovered while on the road. We called the dealer and they felt we shouldn't travel with it as it could fall off while on the highway. We had it repaired by a mobile service and submitted it online to the dealer. They said jayco would cover the repair, but not the service call and had us have the repair people rewrite the invoice for the total amount for the repair but only charge a dollar or so for the service call, which they did and they then submitted it to jayco and it was paid!

I had an issue outside of Jackson, WY last summer. I called Jayco’s warranty department. I got the following back in response:
“Thank you for contacting Jayco customer service. The website that we recommend to locate a mobile tech is www.rvtaa.org. You will need to enter your city and state. You can use anyone on this list.

The information below is what we need from the mobile technician before any work can be done. Jayco’s limited warranty does not cover service call fees associated with using a mobile technician, but we will cover parts and labor for warrantable repairs. If I do not receive all of the information listed in this email it will delay the process of getting parts ordered and the reimbursement issued.”

I didn’t include all the info here, but they look for specific W-9 info, estimates, parts info, etc. Once I got the invoice from the tech with the info that Jayco needed, they reimbursed about half of it.

Jayco will pay for mobile techs, but you have to use the established process. Typically the mobile tech should know to contact Jayco for prior approval.

I have learned to contact the manufacturer of the defective component first. Many manufacturers have mobile techs available. Some years ago I called Norcold with a warranty issue. They gave me contact information for one of their reps to our area. After the rep did his diagnosis he called Jayco and they authorized the repair - parts and labor. Often times an independent will have the same relationship with Jayco.

Same with me. Jayco asked me to pay up front and than they reimbursed me.
