So I just purchased a Jayco 267 BHS at the RV show and my mind has already started to overflow with ideas. I used to work as a custom boat builder and carpenter when I took a break from working as a Paramedic. Boats are built to be light and well appointed (I worked on 1.5 mil and up sport fishing boats)
So I was thinking.....
cedar veneer in the hanging lockers would be nice
dividing the underbed storage and adding piano hinges and struts
propane quick connect on the side of the trailer
dual batteries with a selonoid to isolate one from the other
front toolbox
bunkbed ladder
fabricate hidden rifle cabinet
epoxy the interior of the outside access cabinets

I will post pics as my projects progress.....oh yea a generator would be sweet...but need some $$

If anyone would like help with lightweight woodworking or fiberglass work please ask West Systems Epoxy is amazing!!

Crabman, as a commercial fisherman you would know about West Systems. I really think it has some good RV potential to make lightweight camper parts. I am going to try it out and post pics. The epoxy is so easy to use I think people would be surprised

Thanks for the advice! The battery project is lower on my list. I used to run 2-12v optima batteries on my 1969 Jeep CJ-5 with a selonoid so both were charged but I could pick which battery to use. (Always had a fresh battery) I really am new to the TT world so I have a lot to learn. I am excited. I can never leave things alone so I am sure I will have lots to post

You would be better served installing twin true deep cycle 6v batteries. Like Trojan T-105's. Together the twin 6v have more juice than 2 gr24's.

I have 2, T105's and I can go 3 days before charging the batts. Thats with a few LED nightlights on.

But not more than 2 group 29s. I have camped for 13 days on one group 31 battery. Running lights, water heater, water pump and very limited fan use. I always take 2 batteries on a trip, if I am dry camping.:)
