I’m not sure if it was too much turkey, or perhaps too much sage in the dressing, but I went to bed not feeling well. During my fitful sleep, sometime during the night I found myself and the DW at our favorite RV dealer to pick up a new camper. While doing the PDI, I noticed it really just had a tiny back window not at all like the wonderful visibility in our beloved 5th wheel. My wife (always the optimist) pointed out a very large large screened side one could look out. But wait… there was no slide out. I then discovered there actually was no wall at all. Then to my horror I realized this wasn’t some new 5’er, but in fact a tow behind. Did we really do this? Did we really buy a tow behind? Just then the sales crew came up to the truck with a large hoist and lifted out my trusty Companion hitch and commenced installing a load equalizer hitch. I protested that I really liked how my current rig had towed the 5’er in all conditions, but they assured me I wouldn’t have any problems. For the life of me I couldn’t believe that we really, actually had traded for a towable. In a panic I told the wife to drive the hundred miles home and search for any paperwork. We must have signed something?? How could this be? Could we really have done this? Then in my panic, I sort of woke up, but it took me a long time to convince myself that our beloved 5’er was safely tucked away for the winter in storage. I think later we still may drive over to check on it in person…. just to be sure.
