My First Blow Out - Need New Tires

Wow! Running 12yr old tires? I'll change mine @ 5 yrs and sell them off to someone with a heavy dump trailer or something. The damage from one tire that shreds at highway speeds is more than the cost of a set of tires. I know a few friends that had it happen and takes out propane lines, electrical, skirts, etc.

The Goodyear chart referenced above shows the Endurance in size ST235/85R6 has a max air pressure of 110 psi and 4400 lbs. Is this a (G)14 Ply rated tire? The Goodyear UniSteel G614RST in the LT235/85R16 only carries 3750 lbs at 110 psi and it's labeled as a (G) 14 ply tire. I didn't know the Endurance came in a (G) 14 ply rated tire. Anyone know for sure if the Endurance comes in a (G) 14 ply rated tire?

I also had a blowout but had some moderate damage to my camper - approx. $1500 worth. Thank heavens for insurance!!

Once I made it home I called a few buddies of mine who drive 1 ton trucks with goose neck trailers to haul oilfield equipment. I asked them all which tires they use and if they hold up well. All three of them suggested the Michelin LTX/MS2 tires. I went ahead and put them on and haven't had a lick of issue since.

Ran me right at $1100 to get all 5 tires replaced, mounted and balanced with metal stems. I run them at 80 psi and my TPMS shows them getting only as high as 85-86 psi while traveling 65-70 mph. I know they are only E rated 10 ply, but they work great for me.

Hello,
I'm running the Tow-Master A.S.C. ST235/85R 16,**GREENBALL (14 ply). All the ranchers in this part of Oklahoma run this tire on there trailers. These tires are a sister tire to the semi tires made by Greenball. What I've read about the tires is very good. Only time will tell since I just had them out on. My first long trip isn't until March when I go to Vegas for the Nascar Race. Good luck in your search for tires.
Chris

I just got lucky... heard a whoosh sound, looked at the rear view mirror and saw flat... I was just outside the town on the wide road with little traffic...so I was able to stop within couple hundred of yards...

No TPMS...just being vigilant and paying attention...;)
I'm impressed you could hear the whoosh sound over the noise if your kids yelling.
