hello all,

this is a picture of "some wiring" that is mounted directly behind my house battery drawer and I am trying to identify what part this is. is it the battery disconnect? there are also 2 fuses in the picture. I'm having electrical issues. I suspect it is some type of ground problem so I am trying to replace or clean-up all of my grounds. these connectors look pretty corroded, so I'd like to replace them, but if anything breaks while I am disconnecting the wires, I'd like to know what my options are for replacement parts?

thank you,
Jeff

I believe that is your house battery disconnect solenoid. I had some problems with mine a few years ago with one of those fuses blowing. It was a 7.5 amp that powered the leveling system and I believe the radio/RV camera. Turned out the house battery was bad and the low voltage caused the amps to go high and blow fuse. Not an electrician, so my recollection may be a bit hazy, but replaced the house battery and problem solved.

thank you. i am also having problems with my levelers. i just installed 2 new house batteries, but still having the problem.

My Equalizer jacks had a direct ground from the pump motor to the frame. Cleaning that up solved my leveling issues.

This is your main disconnect relay

That is a latching relay used to connect and disconnect your house batteries to the DC power distribution fuse panel in your power converter unit. It's controlled by the momentarily closed main power switch, probably near your entrance door. The manufacturer is KIB Electronics model LR9806F.
The connections look fairly corroded and should be cleaned up with some emery cloth. To safely do this, FIRST disconnect the ground wire on your house battery(s) and make sure there is no voltage present on the two large black wires on the relay. Then tag each wire as to its position with some tape. Remove each wire one at a time and clean it's lug and the post it attaches to. Reconnect that wire and proceed to the next. Similarly, you can clean off the contact edges of each fuse.
One of the large black wires goes to the + of your house battery and the other goes to your DC power distribution panel. The smaller wires are used to control the relay with the switch near your entrance. The fuses protect the smaller wires from overcurrent melting ( one for the switch circuit and one for the indicator light). However, they may also supply power to devices that are intended to be powered even when the main power to the coach is off (like an auto slide out step). The 15 amp fuse is probably for that circuit. Here's a link to the relay distributor's trouble shooting page.

The small board attached to one of the terminals MAY be a low voltage disconnect that shuts off the relay if your battery voltage drops to around 10.5 volts to help prevent damage to the battery by totally discharging the battery.
You may be able to get a wiring diagram for your coach from the manufacturer or from a forum member. Jaco is usually quite responsive to requests.
Good luck!
Bill
