Need help with TPMSII

Our TT came equipped with the TPMSII tire pressure monitor monitioring system. I'm seeking help getting the tires connected to the app.

The app is loaded on my iPhone, Bluetooth is "on", and the app is ready to "bind" (their terminology) to the tires/wheels. As instructed, I have re-started the app several times after there was no connection established. Each tire valve has a cap with TPMSII's logo on it but they do not appear to be sending units. They are no bigger than an ordinary cap.

The app is marketed as being for a car, and I'm assuming it forwards the car's information from a receiving device and forwards it to your phone. If that's the case, the TT would have to be equipped with a receiver like the car uses. ... just thinking out loud here.

I called RV Complete and the rep explained that the TT might have a "Tire Link" box, usually mounted in the front storage compartment. If it didn't have a link box they were likely wheel mounted sensors. I'm sure now that's the case, and none of them (4 wheels) are sending a signal.

That's where customer support died.

Prior to the first post I had called Jayco CS and they didn't know anything about the TPMSII tire monitoring system and suggested I call Tredit Tire - the supplier.

The Tredit Tire rep stated that they were a distributor only and offered no CS.

I called the dealer's service department and told them what had happened so far. The rep said she would look into it further with Jayco CS (at a higher level than what's available to the customer). It was a "feel good" answer at the time because they have never called me back.

I still have my tire gauges that have worked well for the first 75 years, and my expectations from this industry are so low I'm not as disappointed as I should be.

Can anything be done to a tire pressure wheel mounted sensor to test, reset, or otherwise make operational without unmounting the tire?

And, if they are unuseable, can I use the screw-on type without removing the OEMs?

If they are mounted in the wheel, any tire store will probably have a scanner to “learn” the sensors or at least tell you if they are present.

Thank you. I will look into that. The app will accept each sensor separately if it knows its code. Hopefully that will be part of the "learn" process.

My 2025 21MBH also came with the TPMSII and has never worked , I got so tired of trying I will just use my good old tire gauge. Trying to get help from my dealer or Jayco was as useful as the TPMS

That's exactly were I'm at now. I had an excellent CS rep at Jayco really try to help. She did what she could as far as researching and advising, but it appears the solution is partly (mostly) unavailable.

The instructions for the system are in the app. They reference the special tools you need to make battery changes. I didn't get them. Did you?

I bought this set and never looked back. It works great. It gives me the info I need and works like it should. I tested it by releasing air from my tire. It alarmed within seconds. My JayFeather didn't come with TPMS/BMPro, so this was my choice.

The refresh is less than 30 second OR if it senses a quick air release, it will alarm almost immediately. I keep the monitor up on my dash, solar charged or plug it into 12v port or USB (not included) if you want. Mine has been on the dash for a year, solar charged and it's not failed me yet. No bluetooth, just dash mounted screen info. Comes with one of those reusable sticky-gummy pads that hold it on the dash. You can pull it up, move it as many times as you need to.

I figure I'll pull the sensors for the winter and keep them inside, since they have batteries. I overfill my Goodyear endurance tires for winter parking as advised by Goodyear. If my memory serves me right, they suggest prolonged standing inflate to 90psi.

That’s interesting — I’ve never heard that. What is the normal max pressure for your GYE? Mine is 65. I keep them aired to that through the winter but maybe I should go higher…?

Thank you, JKyle. It's a system I will likely get. The cost and consumer ratings are both excellent.

Do you know if I can use an external valve mounted sensor with the OEM in-the-wheel sensors still in place?

Yeah the max is 65. I went to the Goodyear site and found the recommendations for the tires last year. Let me double check my memory though.

Okay, correction: it is approximately 80psi. the calculation is 25% of the tire's normal inflation, which for my 65psi tires is about 80psi. Of course OFF the ground is recommended, but I'm not doing that.

You're welcome. Honestly, since the systems are completely independent of one another, I don't think it'd be a problem. I mean, the sensors that are built in won't be sending info back to the new TPMS unit or should I say, the new unit shouldn't recognize any signal from the original, built in sensors. The new monitor will only recognize the bluetooth signals sent from its specific sensors from the tire valves. So, the old sensors just stay there and don't really do anything.

I just got my new 2025 Jay Feather Air 15mrb. Tech at the dealer wasn't familiar with the new system, and was looking for a TPMS module one the trailer somewhere. We left without getting a resolution.

From what I can figure out (as mentioned in this thread) this is a newer system. It appears to be an in wheel TPMS sensor that broadcasts using some sort of Bluetooth protocol to talk to the TPMSII app.

I haven't been able to a pair mine, but I found something that on the Tredit site that gives me an idea to try next time I move the trailer.

The page for a sensor they sell states the following (so I intend to try after moving the trailer next time to pair the sensors): No idea what 'solar powered' is supposed to me, but the 'Auto-ON when in motion' makes me think they don't 'wake up' when not in motion regardless of pressure changes.

Features & Benefits

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) for all! Straightforward design by Tredit.
1-year warranty
  • Solar-powered battery – no messy wires
  • Auto-ON when in motion
  • Easy to read display of tire pressure and temperature
  • Simple and quick pairing process

You found out more than I could. It seems odd that being in motion would be the feature that enables them to link, but it's worth a try. Solar powered battery in the stem :scratchhead:. Auto-ON when in motion - I hope so.

I won't be moving the trailer for another two weeks and I'll try it then. If you try sooner, please post results.

I did get one tire to link (bind) standing in the driveway. I tried the other tires several times with different air pressures but they never did connect. Also, as stated @11, we have other options, just an extra step.

I’ll post back when we get on the road. Hopefully this coming weekend.

Regarding the in motion part: I think most automotive sensors go to sleep after motion starts, and wake up after moving a bit.

All of my Nissans that have/had TPMS (2017 and newer) wouldn’t show tire pressures in the dash menu until about a mile of driving.

I think auto shops have scanners that can send a wake up signal to them for shop and programming purposes, but I’m hoping just a short drive will wake up the sensors. I suppose jacking and spring the wheel might work too, but it’s easier to hook up and tow a little versus jacking the trailer.

We had some unexpected excitement on our first trip out with our 15mrb, so just getting around to updating my experience here.

I had hoped that moving the camper might 'wake up' the TMPS sensors, but it did not. I tried pairing after the 5 mile drive to the house from the storage lot. I also tried again after about 20 miles of towing. No dice - the TMPSII app got nothing.

I've contacted Jayco to see if they have any new info. Not hopeful. May ask for Jayco to provide another system since it was advertised as included in my purchase if we can't resolve the issue with the Tredit system.

Thank you for giving it a try and your feedback. There isn't anything left to try so I'm declaring TPMSII useless and moving on.

I hope you get satisfaction from Jayco with resolution or another system - I'm betting against.

Today I got a response from Jayco. They sent a new set of instructions for the TMPS for my 2025 15mrb. It outlines using the Tredit Tire App (not the TMPSII app) for the TPMS system.

I haven't had a chance to test it out yet but will post back as soon as I do.

... good news. Maybe that will be the difference. Let us know.
