Just bought a 2010 Jay Feather Sport and was reading through the owner's manual, which says to torque the lugnuts to a certain figure.

Do you think that this really necessary?

I'd hate to go out and buy a torque wrench only to discover that it's not really needed.

Thanks for your input.

I have a few torque wrenchs, but I have never used any of them on any of my tires including the Trailer Tires. I do check them to make sure they are tight with a regular lug wrench. I would recommend you have the correct lug wrench for your Trailer in the event you have a blow-out or need to change tires and to check the lugs.
I use my torque wrenchs on such things as my Equal-i-zer system when I need to clean and lube it.
