Hello. I'm excited to say after months of looking I bought a used Jay Flight 2015 26BHS yesterday. I'm in the process of buying a tv and want to make sure I'm buying something that works for my tt. I know there is a lot on this subject but it's somewhat confusing to me so was hoping to get feedback on my particular situation. My tt has dry weight 6147 & gvwr 7747 & 30' long. I'm looking at a 2013 F-150 FX2 w/ 5.0L V8. It has the payload package and trailer package/brake controller. I also have an EAZ wdh & sway control. Riding in the tv will be approx 700lbs in passengers. I really appreciate any guidance you could provide. Thank you!!!

Don't want to sound negative but we bought our 2015 26bhs in 2014. Towed with a GMC 1500 for the first two years then upgraded TV to a 2500hd. You can tow it with a 1/2 ton but you won't like it. Scaled tongue weight was just north of 1,000# which doesn't leave anything for the bed of the truck. It certainly was tail wagging the dog with the 1/2 ton but totally opposite with the 3/4 ton. Just my two cents.

OP just needs to look at the door stickers to determine the payload and the axle in the TV.

If indeed it is equipped with the payload package and has a 3.73 rear end that truck should be rated to tow 11,300. Should have a 157" WB.

We upgraded from a Suburban with a tow rating of 7,800 to an F150 rated at 9,500. We have a 26BH that comes in about 6,600 packed for travel. The F150 is a huge improvement over the Burb.

With the Burb I could tell the difference between a full tank and a half tank. We were right on the rear axle max. I had to watch for passing vehicles and get to the far right of the lane to minimize sway.

With the F150 I can run up to 10mph faster with no issues and the sway from passing vehicles is almost non existent.

I have had 250's and 350's in the past and yes they tow great. For me the F150 is a daily driver the tows the camper and the boat. It does both great.

Thank you. The person I bought it from was driving a 2014 4x4 F-150 with V6 ecoboost and said it handled no problem. He drives semi's for a living so what's no problem for him may be white knuckles for my husband-lol. Thanks for your input.

This is very helpful. We really are trying not to buy a 3/4 ton due to the gas mileage. However, the last thing I want is to buy something and then not feel safe so thank you so much for your thoughts.
