I saw your post from December 2018 about being a huge Ford ecoboost fan. I am considering buying a 2019 Ford F150 Ecoboost 3.5. Which engine do you have and what is the trailer weight you are pulling? Are you still happy with yours and have you been any challenging places with it such as steep grades, etc? I am looking at heading to Yellowstone next year and wanting a new tow vehicle. I am pulling a Jayflight 23.2 with a loaded weight of about 5500 lbs. I think the 3.5 V-6 Eco boost is rated for 13200 lbs. I am currently using a 2010 F150 V-8 with a rated towing capacity of 9400 lbs. THanks for any info you can share!

Jaycophil my TT weighs just over 7000 lbs I have 18 f150 with the 3.5 eco boast tow capacity of 11,700 . We drove from MI to Glacier National Park last summer over 4000 miles and had zero issues we never went below 5th or got kicked out of cruise control going up any hill. I think with your tt weight you will be very happy with it. If you want you can send me a private message.

My 22BHM is on the button 5500# and 800# tongue weight. Absolutely perfect fit for my 2018 F150 3.5L.

As I get closer to buying one ( prior to trip in October, I might message you regarding features/options). Speaking of, is there anything on the truck you which you had gotten or maybe which you had not? Main issue with my current F150 with the 24 valve V8 (292 hp at 5700 rpm and 315 ft lb @5700) is going down a grade. Might in part be due to it has almost 200,000 miles and 10 years old now. Thanks again!

Here's a picture of mine with the Jayco in Georgia last weekend.

There isn't one particular thing I can think of that I would want specifically that I don't have. Mine is a 302a XLT with the sport package and max tow package. I bought mine off the lot, so I wasn't real particular.

I would definitely recommend the 36 gal fuel tank and integrated brake controller (both are part of the max tow group but are available individually also). Mine has the factory navigation with the sync 3. I would probably skip the factory navigation and just run waze through the Sync system if I was choosing options for myself.

We have a JayFllight 23RB - 4,015 lbs dry. First year we towed it with a 2015 Dodge Durango AWD 3.6L V6 - 295hp, 8 speed auto. 3.45 gears and tow package, towing capacity 6,200 lbs. That summer we went to Yellowstone and surrounding areas. In flat land like Indiana and Illinois it towed fine. In the rolling hills of western Iowa and eastern Nebraska the transmission was forever shifting and could never find the right gear. In the steep mountain passes both up and down, it did OK too. On the interstate going up on the long mountain grades it would run out out of steam. Where it really showed it's weakness was going west across the open plains of North Dakota on I-90, lots of strong head winds. Speed limit was 80mph, we where lucky to do 55. So I would make like a NASCAR driver and draft the semi-trailer trucks so I could do 65 or 70.

Next year we replace it with a 2016 Dodge Durango AWD 5.7L V8 - 395hp, 8 speed auto. 3.09 gears and tow package, towing capacity 7,400 lbs. Made for much happier towing. Have no problem with lack of power or being able to do the speed limit. Went to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and I-70 across the Rockies.

We just replace my wife's car with a 2017 RAM 1500 Crew Cab 4x4 5.7L V8 - 395hp, 8 speed auto. 3.21 gears and tow package, towing capacity 7,990 lbs.

Pulling the trailer on the interstate gas mileage is the same 10mpg for all three.

Thx. Sounds very similar to my current experiences and your older Dodge similar to my current f150. Does an adequate job until you hit the steep grades.

Jeep Grand Cherokee. It pulls the 195rb nicely. Thirsty in the mountains at 9, better on the Interstate at 14 at 65 MPH.

Just purchased my 2019 f150 3.5 eco w max tow package 13100 lbs as built. Took my trailer(6000 lbs) to Great smokies w no issues. Pulls it great and grades are not a concern. Thx for everyone’s input back when I was pondering what to do. So far very happy w it. Thx.
