Belated Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. My wife and I just recently uograded from a 26 ft. Travel trailer to a 2017 Jayco North Point 383flfs 5th wheel. We are very excited about our new purchase. Within a few years we hope to become full time RVers when we retire.
I do have a question for the forum...we would like to purchase a cover for our Jayco but I am having trouble finding the appropriate size. Camping World, where we bought it does not have a cover that is long enough. Any advice as to who or where I should go? I’m hoping to take advantage of the Black Friday sales.
Thanks, Frank

Welcome to the JOF and congratulations on your new 5th wheel. Hope someone out there in the forum can help you. Happy Camping.

Congratulations and welcome! Sorry, can't help with the cover as the only thing I cover is the A/C units and tires. This was based on our dealers recommendation.

Welcome to JOF and the world of fifth wheels.I'm sure that NP will meet your needs. If you want/ need a cover it should not be hard to find. Let google be your friend from the comfort of your home and shop around.

There are also alternatives, I'm not sure how close you are to the area of Indiana where all the mfgs are located but if you plan to full time in a few years, the cover will just be an unneeded expense, your decision.

IMO I would not look forward to putting one of those covers that size even once on my rig and it's 38.5'.

Enjoy and visit us often.

Thanks!

Hi folks, thanks for the advice on the cover. I think I will explore the suggestion regarding just covering the a/c units and wheels! And since I’m soon turning 64 I don’t really want to be trying to install a full cover...especially 13 feet in the air.
I live about 2 hours from Jayco, so we plan on making a trip up there in the spring. Apparently they give tours of their 5th wheel manufacturing facility!
Best regards. Frank

CONGRATULATIONS on the JAYCO!!!

...and WELCOME TO JOF!!! The members here are GREAT!!! There is a lot of GREAT information to be found here. I am sure that you will have information and pictures to share with us... so please do!

We purchased a cover, put it on (real pain), first rain the water settled in an area behind the AC unit, when I unzipped the access area to the front door about 5 gallons of water came down. Wish I had a picture of that moment!

Within 2 weeks, I noticed that there was the starting of mold under the cover, removed the cover, washed it off, dried it in the FL sun and sent it back.

I get on the roof and wash it in the spring and late fall.

Everything is fine without it!

Don
