Hi all,
Recently acquired a 2011 Jayco Octane Superlite 161 (we sold our last Jayco as we needed a toy hauler). This one has everything two people need along with fitting our Yamaha Rhino UTV nicely. However, it isn't perfect (we will be abandoning the bunk bed and going another route). For now, just tossing the mattress on the floor is 1000% better for our needs!
Looking for suggestions to improve the bed situation along with storage ideas and other ways of improving it from more experienced owners. We hope to pass it on new ideas as our experience grows!

It helps if you post some pictures, then folks can have a better idea of what your space layout is, then they can make suggestions! Best wishes on your reno-to use!

Welcome from the Lone Star State.

You will probably want to start a thread specifically for the bed mod.

Welcome from the OHIO! We have the same rig! We have traveled to 40 of the 50 states. It’s small, but mighty. We added to tv with a swing out arm on the side of the refrigerator cabinet, and we have two 3 drawer Rubbermaid storage cabinets for clothing. Added 4 wire baskets under the tv and two more in the bathroom under the medicine cabinet. That’s it for storage. After tent camping for 30 years we have more than what we need. They are well built and you will love it. We do use the happijack bed. Congratulations!

Does your Happijack bed go further down than 24"? We would use it if ours did- it is so high when all the way down that we can't even sit up in bed, wish it went down about 5'. I looked at upgrading it and it would cost between $1000-2000 to do it! So I just improved the previous setup with a support and we throw the mattress on the couch in the flat position- not great but much better than climbing a ladder and sleeping in a cocoon!

No the Happijack only goes to 24”. Can’t sit up, but it works. Any lower and it would interfere with the windows. We sleep 1 on the happijack and 1 on the dinette area. We have never used the table inside, we put it outside to the right of the door under the awning. Great place to put stuff from the kitchen when you’re cooking outside. I have a twin memory foam mattress on the folded down dinette seats, we just roll it up in the morning, put in the happijack, and raise the entire thing to the ceiling. Zero linen clutter.
