There is myself, DH, DD and 2 small/med camping dogs. We live in Scottsdale, AZ so our camping season can be pretty much year round except for school obligations.

We just placed an order for a Jay Flight 26RLS TT last Friday but will not be taking delivery until around the 1st week of November. We are really anxious to try it out. We are new to owning a TT but not new to camping. We have owned a 2002 Viking Legend GP PUP since new. We have been across country with it over 5 times and numerous local in state and state surrounding camping. I love the outdoors. We got so quick at setting up it only took us about 20 min. and a bit longer to tear down and put everything away. There will be some new things for us to learn. Our water heater and fridge we would have to light them outside. We didn't really have a black tank only a cassette potty which was easy to dump and wash. What I will enjoy is not having to pop up the camper to load the fridge or get things ready inside. We are hoping to have our new TT for Thanksgiving. We have camped and made our Thanksgiving meal outside. That has been our tradition for the last 5 yrs.

I know we will need some new type of accessories since some of the ones from the PUP won't work for the TT. We have so much to learn. Can't wait.

Mary Anne, welcome to the forum. Can't wait to see pics of your new rig! Good luck with the wait... we waited about 2 weeks to pick ours up and that was a l o n g 2 weeks. At least you'll have plenty of time to shop around for any new items you need.

Welcome to the Jayco Owners Forum MaryAnne! What a dream come true to upgrade from a pup to a hard sided tt! You're gonna love it especially on those x-cntry trips! Now the hard part, waiting for delivery!!! Oh, one thought, with the heat of your summers, maybe you could consider upgrading your a/c to 15,000 btu if you haven't yet done so :)

Yes, we upgraded on everything we could. We got the larger A/C unit along with customer package, thermal package, diamond plate front panel and spare tire and carrier. We are looking forward to traveling with the new rig. We didn't want to go too large because there is only 3 of us now and this will seem like a mansion to us from the PUP. We loved all the windows of this floorplan. We loved our PUP and took care of it but we just wanted something bigger and easier for us.

Question, we have an extendable dinette. Do the cushions store under the dinette benchs and is there an add on to the table? I am confused about this one because we didn't really see it.

Thanks for the help.

 We focused on the bunkhouse units under 30' so I didn't get a chance to see how that feature works ( your table). If no one can let you know here, try calling the factory. They are pretty friendly and usually helpful :)

Welcome-- lots of nice camping where you live. It's purdy country too.

We went from a pop up to a 25 foot trailer-- then went down to our current 22' foot Jayco. I can't see myself going outside the Jayco brand (unless we save up for an Air Stream), Jayco makes great practical floor plans and builds them tough. I hope have loads of fun in your new trailer!

Thank you for the welcome. I know we will love having the upgrade. We didn't want to go too big. We actually looked at campers first to find out about weight and the different features and manufacturers. It has been over 8 yrs since we bought new and a lot has changed. Then we looked at trucks to be our TV. The floorplan we settled on, Jay Flight 26RLS, is well within our tow weight with all the cargo and us. I guess you can say we went to buy the cart before the horse. After we purchased the truck we waited about a month and put our order in on the Jayco. We are really excited just a lot of work ahead of us. We need to raise the carport roof 3 feet to accomodate the new camper to protect it from our sweltering sun while not in use. We have a little over 6 weeks to do it but it is still 108 today. I hope it cools down soon.

Thanks again for the welcome. I will keep you posted when we pick it up.

108 degrees!?!?!? We have had snow in the last two days, not much but just enough to say that winter was coming.
We have had a lousy summer, very wet and cool, with only one day of 86 degrees.
We spent the months of Jan and Feb in Yuma, and loved it but it looks like this coming winter is out and it looks like our area may have the worst winter in years. What to do...... what to do!!!!!!!!

Maromeo, sounds like you guys have done it right matching the TV to the TT...

Alberta, no snow here yet, but we seem to be living in a fog-bank that won't go away! Cool & wet here too. Makes Snowbirding over the winter to AZ sound good, don't it!
