We ordered a 2025 Pinnacle 32 RLTS. Our PDI is scheduled for mid March. I've already informed my dealer that after his PDI with us we are going to crawl all over it to do our inspection. My wife and I are pretty good at inspecting having bought a few new 5th wheels. A buddy of mine hired a private inspector for a new class A last year. I have his outline and plan on following it. I fully understand that this is our last bite of the apple (before the big warranty fight begins) to get everything fixed. I'm holding back my down payment till I'm satisfied. I want to ask this group for any advice for the one off crazy situation they have experienced during their PDI and overall strategies for inspection.

It looks like you are well prepared for the PDI. I've attached a popular checklist you might find helpful.

Congrats on your new Pinnacle. Why did you chose it? We have been going back and forth between the Pinnacle 32RTLS and the Brinkley Z3100. Love the look, finish, furniture, appliances and A/C in the Pinnacle. But have heard horrible things about Jayco warranty and finding a good place for service. What are your thoughts?

Thanks, I looked at the Brinkley, as well as the Solitude, and Montana, they all had some similar choices, but the Pinnacle decor, layout, fit-finish, the king bed had more walk around room, and the front and rear caps look better than the others. What sold me was the power cord reel, we camp in the fall when it cooler and that 50amp power cord sucks to wrap up when it's cold. We plan on snow birding for 3 months in it, the Pinnacle felt more like a full timer than the others.

I feel customer like us expect way more out of the selling dealer, we think they should act more like a GM Ford or Dodge dealer with better factory coverage but they don't. The Factories quality control sucks, they claim they are getting better but we know their still full of shi_. We relay on the selling dealer to do the factories job, the selling dealer knows they have to do it but generally doesn't want to. This is why the PDI and developing a relatioinship is so important, never haul the camper off their lot without everything on your list fixed, never rely on them to tell you its ok the bring it back and we'll take care of it. This is the beginning of the fight I talk about, be persistent and hold money back till your satisfied. If you find a dealer you can trust buy from them. There are a lot of bad reviews about Camping World and other dealers customers buying experiences, I think we read more bad reviews then good, but its hard to believe or not unless you lived thru it.

I'm fortunate enough to be extremely handy, I've been in the car/truck industry my whole life and end up repairing stuff myself. Good luck, I hoped this helped.

If you are handy, you will be happy. I've had to make several small repairs/adjustments. But overall a lot of trailer for the price. Congrats.

I think you know what you’re doing and how to do it. Just a couple of thing you most probable already thought of. Put a ac tester into all the 120 v outlets to make sure they are connected correctly. Don’t think they test this. Also run everything in the 5th wheel, like a shakedown test. I found a small leak in the shower screen by taking a shower 😱. Let us know how it goes.

We bought our ‘23 32RLTS new a year ago from a Dealer in West Virginia and are now on our third punch list of warranty problems. This is our 4th RV the last being a 2000 Beaver DP which had tremendous build quality. To put it mildly, the Jayco is a piece of crap😖. The build quality and fit/finish is an embarrassment to the American manufacturing process. My advice for JT is to not complete the transaction till the punch list is completed. I know that is not how warranty transactions occur but whatever you can do to make sure the unit meets your delivery expectations prior to driving it off the lot the better and happier you will be. We are on our third dealership trying to get simple things accomplished and it is beyond frustrating. Jayco should be embarrassed with the crap they are putting to market!!
Sorry for the negative tone of my message but quite frankly I did my best to put a positive spin on our disappointing purchase.
All the best!

My ‘24 Pinnacle has spent 350 of the 500 days we’ve owned it in for service. It has now been in since 9/12 on a warranty repair of the hydraulic system. As of yesterday, the dealership was fighting with Jayco over the TWO hours Jayco has allotted for the repair of the system. I’ve tried three different dealerships for service and none are quick. Unfortunately, I have not used the dealer from which I purchased it because it is three hours away. I can’t speak for Brinkley, but I can sure tell you there is an immense amount of frustration with Jayco. Good luck with your decision!

We had a 2020 32RLTS, built pre-COVID, that other than the standard BMPro issues, was pretty much trouble free for the over 4 years we owned it. No issues with fit and finish and the systems were all good. We did have a kitchen slide adjustment that caused it to stay at our dealer for a couple of weeks but that was pretty much it. I will say the dealer does make a difference. As others have said, look it over completely.

After we sold it last fall and decided we weren't quite done we went looking for a Jayco travel trailer. The dealer we are using handles both Jayco and Grand Design but really discouraged me from thinking about a Jayco product. He said they are dropping them completely as getting them to approve warranty work is just too difficult. That's why we ordered a GD Imagine travel trailer. Quality may not be much better but my dealer says they are much easier to work with.

Stan and Sharon, thanks for posting that PDI checklist. I printed it and will take it with us when we pick up the Imagine. The dealer we are using has a nice campground behind their dealership and they have asked we spend a couple of nights with them before taking it home. That should give us time to go thru your list.
