Over the last week or so, when I would click on the "New Posts" tab, I would get a pull down menu that looked just like the "Search" tab. Then today, I decided to login to see if it would do the same thing but it actually works like it use to without being logged in. Why is that? I don't want to always have to login to view the new posts to the forum. Is anyone else having this same issue?

I don't even see a new posts tab if not logged in. Will refer to Admin. Noty sure if there was a change or what.

+1 I really like this forum, but sometimes i dont have alot of time to check out the new posts.. having to Log in to see them, is not always an option when i am busy. Thank you Admins.

Are you accessing the Jof on a iPhone?
Are you using the mobile view or the full option.
I never log out of JOF, no reason for me to have to log in each time.
I see what you describe on the “mobile view” but am sure that has not changed recently.
When not logged in there are limits to view unless logged in.

I login on both my home PC with Windows 10 and on my iphone. No problem on the iphone, just on the home PC. It's been working fine on the home PC until about a week ago. When not logged in, the "new posts" tab has a small arrow to the right just like the "search" tab and if you click on the "new posts" tab, it gives you the same pull down screen as the "search" tab. But when you login, both tabs work as they should.

I don't have a windows machine to compare on my own. Could you possibly take a screen shot of what you are describing?

Here is what I am seeing when I am logged out using Chrome. The first pic will be on my Android phone and the second will be in desktop view. Does what you are seeing differ from these?

As you can see, there is a "New Posts" tab in mobile view on the phone but only a "Today's Posts" with a little arrow in the desktop view.

Why log out? I stay logged in and just close the window when done. It works extremely well and the "new posts" button works great. I do this on several forums I visit.

Exactly. I always stay logged on by clicking "remember me" when logging in the first time. No need to login every time.

We're not staying on point. The question remains: If one is NOT logged on, why does the site bring up "search" when selecting "new posts"?

It would appear that this is a website problem, not a machine problem since it is happening on both Windows and Mac platforms. It seems to be the "computer" website problem, as opposed to a "mobile" website problem, since it does not happen on the "phone" problem, but it does happen on the "tablet" version (iPad). It is not allowing me to stay logged in to the site and is requiring me to login on each visit. This is new, as someone above said, about 4 days ago. Before that, my login stayed active with the stay logged in check off.

I am assuming that you are using the "Remember Me" box when logging in. That tends to be a common mistake.

Here is a screenshot from my MAC using Firefox. It looks and functions the same to me on my end as it does on Chrome. And, I am staying logged in without issue. I'm not doubting that some of you are having issues or seeing things differently. But, it is very hard to track or figure out if we can't duplicate the problem or see what it is that you are dealing with.

I see what everyone's saying. Started about a week ago for me. I understand about always being logged in but if you're not something has changed from the way it used to be. Sometimes I'll visit the forum without logging in and just hit the "Todays Post" and it would bring up the days posts. Now it won't. When you hit "Todays Post" without logging in you just get the search function instead of it directing you to the forum the way it used to. So ad-mins try this: Log off the site and stay logged off. Bring up the site still logged off and hit "Todays Post". You will get the search function instead of directing you to the posts of the day. It did not do this before.

I got it now. Thanks for the explanation.

This is what you are seeing now correct.

Looks like the problem/issue has been corrected as the "New Posts" tab is working correctly this morning. Thanks for the fix.
