Hi everyone. We just purchased a new 2011 Jayco Skylark FKV. We have already taken it out on two break in trips. Each have been great. Prior to purchasing the Skylark, we considered the 17Z and 19H. We chose the Skylark because of the trailer weight and the front kitchen v-bridge. This feature really fits the family. It has been years since we have camped. So it is great to start up once again. I will post photos soon.

Welcome to the Jayco Owners Forum BigSky! I love the counter space on your tt! Glad to hear all went well on your first two trips. But have that warranty list ready as you find little things here and there that will need attention when you go in for your first warranty visit :)

Thank you for the great welcome. Just got word from the dealer that a new counter top was ordered for us. I had spotted as small blemish during the trailer training. It was very minor. A staple must have poked through during construction and they had filled in the hole. I didn't even know that they had ordered the replacement. Think I will have it installed after the season. Don't want to waste the few free weekends remaining in the year.

Attached are some photos of the new Jayco Skylark. Not the best shots since I had to use my cell phone. Just learning how to post so more will follow. :)

That's Nice

I've never seen one of those. That's a nice looking trailer. I'm really happy with the interior finishes Jayco is using. Our 2011 17Z has really nice fabrics and color schemes.

Really appreciate your response to my questions re: skylark. Am so grateful. I also wanted to let you know that I just put a deposit down on a 2012 Skylark.
Sincere thanks.

Where is/are the fresh, black and gray tanks located on the Skylark? Also can someone tell me the btu on the heat pump vs the rooftop a/c? thanks

We chose to add the a/c versus the heat pump. I'm not sure of the btu's of the heat pump but the a/c is 13,000. The tanks are located on the side opposite of the door. The grey tank is in front of the axil and the black is behind it. This true is a great little trailer. Really good features and plenty of room. We have the FKV model.

I'm going to the Hershey show to look at the Skylark, is the vent in the ceiling a fantastic vent? Where is the fresh water tank and has anyone used the tankless water heater? Thnx

No, the vent is not a fantastic fan. This would have to an after market change. All of the tanks are set under the trailer and balanced around the axel. I'm not familiar with the tankless water heater. That was not an option on our model. It has been fun to watch the evolution of the Skylark. We are still very pleased with the FKV model. It fits our family very well. Towing the Skylark has been very easy. Of course you need to pack light. But that has not been an issue. Enjoy your tour of the Skylark. Which floor plan are you interested in?

We love ours. In fact, I am typing this while I am in it. Everyone else is asleep and I am surfing the net. We have the 6gallon water heater. Just time showers right and havent had any trouble!

I like your model, the front kitchen. I'm torn between this and the Visa 17 rwd new model or Lance has new 1575 with slide- All 3 are around $20K. I notice there is little carrying capacity in the Skylark, like 400 lbs. There is sooo much space in the Skylark, how do you keep it to a minimum?

For us it is just experience. We were overwhelmed coming from a pop up with very little space. Our first trip, I think we brought everything but the kitchen sink. As we go we trim down. This last trip we hardly brought anything.

Ordered a Skylark 21FKV

I traded in our 2010 Trailmanor 2720SD for the 2012 Skylark 21FKV which will be delivered
around November. The Trailmanor and the Skylark are approximately the same weight. I tow with a 4Runner, V6 with no problem. I would have purchased the Skylark had it been available at the time I bought the Trailmanor. It was all about weight. Looking forward to this owners forum as from experience with the Trailmanor's forum a wealth of information is available.

PS: Iasked the dealer to install a Fantastic Fan in the forward vent as this will provide exhaust air flow when cooking and provide more ventilation.

Gerry - congratulations on the new Skylark. We had considered the Trailmanor when we started looking for TT's. But the Skylark caught our eye and we have been enjoying ever since. Great choice on the Fantastic Fan. Can't wait to see pictures when your new Skylark arrives.
