Hi, I'm new to Jayco Forum but have been Rv'ing since 1993. Have had our new 2012 Jayco 36RETS Pinnacle fifth wheel (since Aug 2011) and are enjoying it very much. Have owned two new 36RLTS Jayco Designers (04 & 07) which were great but not nearly as nice as the Pinnacle and had more problems. The only problems so far are having several light bulbs including two "Scare" lights and three halogen ceiling lights burn out. As there are 28 ceiling lights this could quickly become a pain.
We tow with a 2011-1 Ton Silverado LTZ CC Duramax / Allison Dually which does a beautiful job of handling the nearily 16,000 pounds of fifth wheel and got around 11 Mpg towing at 65 mph to Arizona (1200 miles). The exhaust brake feature is particularly usefull.

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you guys have a really nice setup -- hope you all can share some of that good experience with the rest of us!

Welcome,

Good to hear your Pinnacle is doing well...where did you pick up some spare bulbs? If that has been your only issue sounds like you have a good one...with that I've heard of very few problems with the Pinnacles.

We p/u our new 36KPTS March 15 in So. Cal. and are chomping at the bit.

Looks like we have similar TV's and looking forward to hooking up and heading out.

Post some pics if you can.

I took the lights apart on my new Jayco Jayflight to see what bulbs it had and buy spares. The 12 volt bulb in the large light over the dining area is impossible to find. After much research I bought a replacement 1156 to replace a 1295. The 1295 is a 3 amp bulb i.e. 36 watts. The 1156 is 2.25 amps i.e. 27 watts. Haven't tried them yet so don't know if they (there are 2 bulbs in the light) will give enough light output. I haven't checked the bulb in the scare light yet. The light will be 54 watts Vs 72 watts.

Light bulb replacements and Pictures Uploaded

Wyotraveler,
When my Scare lights burned out in my Pinnacle, I could not read what type they were on the bulb but I had some 1156 bulbs that fit and they worked just fine. I don't know what they use in the light above the table as I haven't taken that out yet. The halogen ones over the chairs and the couch were the G4 base type and I got them on Ebay for around $23.00 (for 40) with free shipping. They were halogen 10 watt -12 volt and had the 2 prong base with 4 mm spacing. The ceiling lights however are 20 watt and have 6.35 mm spacing and for temporary I have used the 10 watt bulbs in their sockets. They also don't have any numbers on them and they aren't in the Jayco manual.
I have uploaded some pictures of the new Pinnacle but they don't show up unless you poke on my ID and profile and then the album appears on the right side. Must be doing it wrong.

Welcome to the Forum

We also have a Pinnacle, ours is the 35LKTS and has also been great so far.

After blowing a number of the Halogen Light Bulbs, we replaced the G4 Bulbs with LEDs, they run much cooler and have not had any problems with them so far.
