New to trailers question

We bought a 1994 22ft Jayco Eagle SL. No owners manual of course. We haven't used it yet but did have it winterized. I figured out how to flush the lines with the city water hookup and how to drain the grey water tank. I filled the water tank about a 3rd full, left water heater valves closed.turned on the pump and waited 10 minutes opened the faucets and nothing happened. I am also unsure how to flush the toilet no water is going to it. Tried to get an owners manual from Jayco they sent me one for a 2003. By the way we are using it this weekend

- Did the water pump run for the full 10 minutes or did it cycle on to build up pressure and shut off?
- Do you have the valve closed at the water pump so that it's unable to pump water through the water lines (it's normally closed to winterize and open when used)?
- As a word if caution (not to say you don't already know this) but DON'T turn on the water heater until you KNOW the tank is full as you sort out this water pump/flow dilemma. You'll only create more headaches and cash flow.

Do you know where your pump is? If you can’t hear it then it’s not working. It should make noise for a few seconds when you flip on the switch then kick off when it builds pressure in the lines. It will kick back on every time you open a faucet or flush the toilet and run until you stop using water. Once your done using the water and shut off the faucet or release toilet pedal it will run a few seconds then shut off again. If it’s running and building up pressure then stopping, then you go turn on a faucet or try to flush the toilet and nothing happens, I’m betting you’ve got your valves turned the wrong way when you tried to bypass the water heater. First step, find the pump and make sure it’s even working/turning on. It will be noisy and obvious

Did you locate and look at your pump?

If you can't find it try looking for a panel held on by 2 screws. Why they don't put on hinges is a mystery to me. Often near the water heater but on the inside of the trailer.

I replaced my screws with hidden spring hinges because you have to get in there to winterize it, use the low point drains, etc.

Once in there look and feel around for the winterizing valves, drains, inspect the pump and filter, etc.

Also, someone may have installed a shutoff behind the toilet. Some do in case of leaks, etc.

Call the dealer you bought it from or the nearest dealer and ask if they have a pump location for you to look at it.

The first valve from the pump is a valve that is attached to a clear tube laying on top of the tank it is not attached to anything. I put a bucket under the tube and opened that valve with the pump on and nothing happened. The next valve goes into the floor and to the water heater. There is also a valve in the floor which I think is a low drain valve. It twists not just horizontal or vertical.

The valve that has a tube running from it is actually a tube designed to put into a gallon bottle of antifreeze when winterizing your water system. Right now, that valve should be turned perpendicular to the tube, shutting it off. The other valve running to the water heater would be the valve that should be open right now to allow water to flow from the fresh water tank through the pump and into your water system. Start by getting those two valves in the right position. As a reminder, valve handles running perpendicular to the water line are closed and valve handles running parallel to the waterline are open. They should only turn a 1/4 turn.
