New user, why was my thread deleted?

I posted a question about awning operation in the travel trailer section. Minutes later it was deleted.

I'm very familiar with vB forums, and rules that go with that. I have searched the forum and not found anything which would disallow me from posting a new thread.

Any explanation would be appreciated :)

I edited the post to update the title, then when I clicked save, the rendered page said the post thread didn't exist anymore. Returning back to the travel trailer section, it doesn't appear. Even checking my profile posts, it doesn't list that thread.

Try to repost it? I seriously doubt any of our mods would have deleted your post.

I'd be happy to try and answer your questions, not to speak for others, but I think we all would. It's a great group here. Maybe it didn't actually post? Anyway, welcome to the forum. Ask away.

I'm not a mod obviously, but I anticipate a similar response from one of them. The only threads that get locked or deleted are ones that get political, 2A, or mean / controversial. Just my 2 cents on it. It's a great place to hang out.

First...let's back up a little and not accuse Mods of deleting your thread. If you were as knowledgeable about vBulletin as you say you would know that there are settings that the admin can set up controlling first posts. Your thread was in a queue waiting for a Mod to review it and approve it. I didn't pay attention to when it was posted but I just approved it. That's how the site tries to prevent spammers.

I believe it's your first thread and if you post a link in your first 10 posts or something like that.

Have a great night and next time maybe just ask how to find your thread and not accuse people who do this out of love of camping.

Please do not repost. See my post above.

Hi Snake,

Thank you for clarifying. I haven't yet seen vB to allow posting successfully and then remove it in order to add to a queue. I even had enough time to edit it twice. So, my mistake. It was available for several minutes, but I suppose that's probably a 5min cronjob that'll scan.

No need to repost obviously, but happy to know that all is well :)

Thanks!
