Just joined and am some what lost here. I have a question that maybe someone can help me with.
I purchased a 2012 jayco flight 26bh for work. ( I am a transit construction worker) and I want to add a 20 amp power inlet for a secondary Isolated AC source for heaters in cold weather. My question is; where is the best spot to locate the outside device. I am thinking of next to the rear bunk storage door and then mount the GFIC on the short wall under the lower bunk. I want make sure the inlet is sealed for water leaks. would on the very back of the trailer be better than a side wall mount.
anyone with experience with something like this, I would appreciate any suggestion

Welcome to the forum.

There are several members here very experienced with AC circuits and RVs and they should be able to provide some good information.

Until you hear from them, there are a couple of questions they will probably ask you:
Where will you getting power for your trailer? (RV park, next to a house, etc.)
If you will be in cold weather for days & nights at a time, do you have plans to keep your tanks (fresh, gray, black) from freezing, too?
Will part of your heating be done with propane or do you plan to use only electric heat?

This is a pretty common mod that is done to 30a rigs. I added one on another 30a fifth wheel. First I mounted a weatherproof outlet on the side near the utility hatch.

The on the inside you can run it to a junction box and multiple it to a couple of ac outlets inside located where you want to place a small heater. Some even terminate it in a small breaker panel and extend it from there for additional protection of the extension cord.
Using it is a simple matter of plugging an extension cord into the receptacle mounted on the side of the rig and plug it into a 15a plug at the cg pedestal.

When I had mine, I had a method of plugging the water heater into a receptacle near the water heater.

Only problem is some cg's don't have a separate 15a outlet.

In that case you are out of luck.

Wow! I wasn't expecting so much help so soon. Thanks everybody!!
as far as the holding tanks not freezing I was thinking of adding RV antifreeze after each dump. the trailer is excellent condition underneath and I am not certain about adding heater pads without damaging the fiber cover. Sadly this is not a solid underbody so I was thinking of skirting and maybe a heat lamp. I was counting on CG power outlet and propane will be used also. trying to cut down on LP cost.
Fairly obvious I am new at this isn't it.
So any advice is welcome and appreciated
