Newb here but an auto forum vet

Picked up a 1990 Thrush 6 (pop up tent trailer) from my brother. He is a maintenance deferred kinda guy. I'm cleaning up the problems.

Converter doesn't want to charge the battery when on 110 outside power. I've thrown the switch to allow 110 to be converted and the battery is hooked up correctly. It will illuminate the lights with 12v and 110. All fuses are good (5 & 15 amp). Any suggestions?

I DO have an external charger that I can plug in but that is a PITA.

I also have power at one of the pins in the wire harness, but it doesn't charge off the tow vehicle.

The tow is a GMC Yukon, could the wire harness be incorrectly wired? Are there any schematics archived someplace?

There are issues with the fridge and the heater.....still exploring and will post later.

Welcome to the site...

Well as for the battery charger find the 120 VAC cord and check and be sure there is 120 VAC getting to the charger. Then disconnect the output and check the charger to see if there is 13-14 VDC coming out. If nothing coming out of the charger check for a blown fuses on the charger.

For the refrigerator and heater I'm gather your having a tough time lighting the burners on both? Might be air in the line some light the stove burner and allow it to burn while trying to light the heater and fridge to aid in get the air out of the lines...

The output while on 110, is 13+ Volt. It's just not getting to the battery.

I figure splicing in a suitable gauged + and - wire into the lighting circuit, with a fuse, to the battery would accomplish the desired effect.

Both fuses in the panel, as I mentioned in my OP are good.

There is usually a breaker near the battery check that too...

RV Plug schematic

You asked for a schematic for the RV plug. I am trying to attach a schematic to this reply. I hope it works. Otherwise:
Terminal 1 = Ground (white)
Terminal 2 = Electric Brakes (blue)
Terminal 3 = Tail Lights (brown)
Terminal 4 = 12V (black)
Terminal 5 = Left Turn Signal (yellow)
Terminal 6 = Right Turn Signal (green)
Center terminal = Auxiliary (orange)

It looks like that the trailer wiring was incorrect. The square 6 off of the trailer went to a small round 6.....the wires inside were wrong, redid them and then hooked it to the GMC "7" pin adapter.

Sorry, the bottom should read running lights. Got chopped off. The adapter makes no provision for the back up lights and is unused.
