Newbie in the Catskills, NY

Hi All,
Proud owner and EXTREME newbie of a JayFlight Swift 26ft bh. I bought this trailer for my dad and I to use during hunting season on myproperty. We have no water hook up or electricity on the property (using a yamaha 2000is generator). I have been doing a lot of reading on dry camping and I hope some of it stuck in my head!
Since I will be using it in the winter, I know I wont be able to fill the water tanks for fesr of freezing so I am guessing I will bring water.
Any advice on ANYTHING will be greatly appreciated!

Hey Jon - welcome to the form! A 26bh should make a nice hunting cabin!

You are right about the water, but you can use the fridge and the furnace to keep cozy. You might search on a few posts related to adding a second battery so you don't have to run your gen as much.

Ask away on anything else. Thee are lots of friends folks here to help

Thank you Terry. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I have to figure out how much I can get away with propane and how much for the generator. Admittedly I am not that handy but would LOVE not to have to use the generator since I will be hungint that property and the noise is not welcome.

Welcome to the forum jlibasci. Don't worry about being a newbie, we all were at one time, and we all made a few mistakes along the way. Your local camper place should be able to install a 2nd battery for you.

Great idea to let the dealer do it. Any general idea what iot should cost me? btw, if I have an auxilary battery, then what do you use the generator for other than recharging the battery (and I guess running the "big stuff - microwave/a/c)
