Hello all,

I have tent camped all my life and my wife and I have since we got married, but we finally crossed the threshold into the camper life. We both just retired in January 2025 and the first thing we did was to purchase a Jayco. We are so excited! We have been trying to learn all we need to hit the road. We are having our first test run this weekend...about 100 feet from our farmhouse...LOL! It reminds me of tent camping in the backyard during my younger years. We are happy to be a part of the Jayco family. Any newbie tips are greatly appreciated!

We hope all are safe and well!

God bless...

It is good your first trip is at home. It is a good way to start your new camper adventure. Welcome to the forum.

Camp Driveway is always a good idea for the first time "out". I always mention to have a pen and paper pad to jot down things you think of to add to your needs. There are several good printable check lists on the internet that may have items listed that you may not even think of. You can pick and choose from them as you wish.

This is one we've used in the past. They have seven lists to choose from. Print once, laminate them and use a grease pencil or dry erase pen to check off with.

Welcome to the world of Glamping:nansplit:
Sounds like you'll be off grid trying everything out and seeing what you need. If you really want to go glamping find a nearby campground that offers full hook-ups to use your RV like a mobile cottage :)
