In case you don't wander out of the fifth wheel forum much, like me, there is a post in the tech forum about a member getting the batteryless version.

please post a link to the thread you mentioned in the 'tech forum'

Being tech challenged I couldn't figure out how do that. It's in the forum called Tech Talk and the thread is titled "New no-battery Jaycommand Bmpro". Maybe someone smarter than me can do it.

I bought the new version of the BMPro and I will be installing it once the RV comes out of storage.

My tablet was fine, but the buttons across the bottom would not work. Think I may have zapped (lots of static up here in NH ) the board when I removed it for the winter to save the tablet battery. Talk about irony!

Set me back $600, but no more removing it every winter!

Now to get the new one set up and working...wish me luck.

Is this just the same sorry tablet and software, just without the battery?

What stops us from pulling the battery and being happy without the low power issues?

I wondered the same. Saturday I got the replacement battery from Amazon and after I removed the old battery I plugged it into a charger with no battery installed and it would not boot. I surmised a battery is required. After installation of the new battery it booted fast with 76% and I charged it to 100% then installed it back into our camper.
So far, it's staying on and working like it should.

UGG! I did replace my battery, but now I have some serious background drain. I can have it on a higher-power charger and still have it drop a percentage every few minutes. The Jay Command app is the only thing running. I need to dig further into this.

I am almost to the point of doing a factory reset; how much more can it hurt?
