We have a Jayco 2019 264BH we purchased new and it came with a Norcold N8X refrigerator. For our last couple of trips, the refrigerator works fine on propane for about 5 days then stops cooling. The fridge electronics still work and we can hear the fan continuing to run but no cooling. When we turn the refrigerator off for about another 4 - 5 days then turn it back on, it begins cooling once again. Since our camping trips last for about 10 - 14 days, we just pack the freezer and refrigerator with ice and use the unit like an ice chest. 90% of our camping trips are "dry camping" so we don't have the opportunity to see if the problem clears up on shore power.

We've taken our trailer to our local Jayco dealer in Fresno, CA to have the problem diagnosed and repaired, but they can't seem to find the problem. The last time we took our trailer into the dealer, they had it for over a month running the refrigerator on propane and then on shore power the entire time, and it ran perfectly for the entire month (of course it did )

Our trailer has the extended warranty so if the dealer can diagnose the problem is in the refrigerator, they will replace it at no cost to us. Otherwise a new unit will cost us about $1,400 through the dealer (about $1,900 from Amazon).

Any ideas what the problem might be?

I think it may be operating normally. The apparent non-cooling has made me and other RV'rs think the refrigerator is not working properly when it is actually in a defrost cycle, because the temps will get much higher than expected. When this occurs overnight it likely isn't noticed but when it happens during the day it becomes more apparent. Check out my comment #2 in the following link. ~CA

BTW, in that comment I suggested turning off the 12V battery power however since that time I have found from many that the refrigerator is one of the components that stay powered even if the battery disconnect switch is turned off. (somethign to be aware of) I would first just turn the fridge off for a few minutes ever 1~2 days and see if that makes a difference for you.
