I have never had a 5er, and have been looking for an under 30 foot pre-owned around 2005-06 that I can pull with a 2011 F250 gasser. Started looking at Keystone cougars, then went to FR Wildcats - I don't buy impulsively and will search for just the right one (much to wifeys frustration). Anway was already to buy a Wildcat and then I read about frame breakage associated with their Lippert frames and talked to Transport Canada who has active defect investigations ongoing on both these manufacturers/models. So I moved on - now I'm looking at Jayco - found a nice 2006 Eagle 281 that is about 350 miles away. Plan on going to look at it. I understand Jayco uses a much better frame than the Lippert that most of the industry uses.

Any advice is appreciated.

Welcome to the JOF Malfar! You're like us, we don't buy impulsively and research/shop for just the right rv to fit our budget/needs; lot's of folks do it that way :) As you come up with specific questions, post them in the Tech Talk or Fifth Wheel forums here at JOF. Happy shopping :)

Jayco is defiantly better quality than many RV's but because they are an assembly line product there can be flaws, but most of these get taken care of with their 2 year warranty which is the best in the business. Hopefully the one you are looking at has had any little problems worked out by the previous owner. Enjoy the forum.

Welcome to the user friendly Jayco Owners forum! Our members just love to answer questions or help out other members when possible and have fun sharing their experiences . So do not hesitate to post pics of your Jayco in the "Pics of your Jayco forum" and pics of your tow vehicle in the "Tow Vehicle forum".

Feel free to participate in our many fun polls (JOF POLL CENTRAL located in the General Jayco chat forum). Post often, have fun with the forum, and enjoy your Jayco!
