Just purchased a North Point 310RLTS, truck is on order, GM3500HD, SRW, std bed, . . . maybe have it end of June. The Jayco dealer is going to credit the Interstate batteries and install my lithium batteries. The hitch is probably not the last detail but I am getting closer. I initially wanted to go with one of the goose necks but the dealer said the Reese would not fit this frame/hole pattern. He did not get very good information on the Gen y for identifying what part fit this pin box. (I believe he said it was a Rhino Box MORryde RBP-72). In any case, for now I think I am going with a B&W Companion hitch. It looks like it pins in quickly to the bed puck system and since it is two pieces it is doable to gain the truck bed back when not towing. Granted not as fast as taking a ball out.

Any B&W Companion users that could speak to their experience would be appreciated.

Same exact experience. Started with Curt. Been using B&W since 2017. Good enough that I don’t consider anything else.

Our very first 5er we bought in 2010 and it was an 04 Montana Mountaineer. I pulled it with a 99 Ram 2500 Cummins. I put in a Curt Q5 on rails. The hitch was a great hitch. Worked well coupling and uncoupling, rode nice considering the trailer has a standard solid pin box and them older Ram's rode like a lumber wagon anyway. 2012 I bought an 11 Silverado 3500 crew DRW. I had a B&W Turnover and Companion in it. I bought an adapter plate that would drop in the Turnover and adapt the Curt to it. I did a ride comparison between the two hitches and found the B&W did a better job. HOWEVER, my findings also found the adapter plate for the Curt was giving me some flex which would have caused it to not perform quite as well.
Either way I ended up selling the Curt with the Montana.
My B&W Companion in my 11 has pulled the Montana and our previous Sierra. It got switched over to my current 2015 Silverado 3500 DRW and pulled the Sierra and since 2016 our current Northpoint. The Sierra was a 40' and the Northpoint is a 45'. Northpoint has a bit more pin weight and overall weighs more than the Sierra AND the Northpoint came from the factory with a Moryde pin box. Honestly the Northpoint pulls like a dream. I did have an issue last year with the base of my Companion and B&W stood behind it 100% with very minimal questions and within a couple days I had a brand new base at my door. Yes, they warrantied an 11yr old base.
The ouck systems in trucks didn't come out until a year or two after my truck. I have 2 friends that have Companions in Silverado's with puck systems and have no issues and love them. Easy in and easy out and the one guy is 62 years old and takes it out by hand by himself.
Those Gen Y pinboxes look pretty interesting but they are real proud of them at the tune of $1800. I could see them making the ride nice but I just don't see it being THAT much better than the setup I currently have

I have had three of the B&W Companion hitch, and here is one of my pics with it in my 2023 Chevy High Country 3500 LB before I bought my dually, now I have it on my GMC dually. It's not too bad taking it out, I'm 70th years old and have no problem taking this out in two pieces.

I bought a couple of small locks and replaced the two rear snap pins, as everyone has said, pretty easy to remove quickly which worried me a bit with a hitch in this price range. Someone could still take it but at least they would need to bring some tools.

Here you go, nothing special, just a Brinks I picked up. They rust since they are out in the weather all of the time so I have to replace them about once a year. Like I said, not something that couldn't be broken with a prybar or a pair of bolt cutters but at least they will need to bring some tools and it might slow them down a bit.

We have had just about all hitches and my husband says the B&W Companion is by far the best one. Easiest to hook up and unhook. Enjoy your North Point. They are fabulous. Betsy.

BW is fantastic for us

I have a 26,5 RLDS and a 2021 GMC2500. Bought a new BW Companion with the puck setup. Really like this hitch. No chucking and easy to connect. My previous Draw Tite hitch had chucking. You will be happy with the BW.

I'll add one more thing. If you are any where near Lake Havasu City people come from as far as Canada to have Mohave Hitch and Welding to have their hitches put in. Their attention to detail is important. Their wiring is perfection. No we are not the owners. Betsy
