Open ground Problem

Hi Guys
Just bought 2024 Jayco Eagle 312 BHOK. We are boondocking. Desperately trying to power the trailer and top up the battery with my generator (Cabela 4750 portable generator) I was getting an open ground warning from my surge protector so I made a ground neutral bonding plug and plugged it into my 120v outlet. It solved the problem on my surge protector and the warning went away....until I attached the 50 amp cable now the warning is back.
Any help would be much appreciated since we are in somewhat of a desperate situation.
The generator neutral needs to be bonded to the ground.

Here is what you need to do. First you need a male 15 amp plug that you can take apart and a short piece of wire.
Or you could as a temp fix. Take a 3 prong extension cord and splice the neutral and ground together with a wire nut.
Once made plug it into one of the generators 15 amp plugs.

To make a RV generator open neutral plug (also known as a bonded plug) for use with an RV's surge protector, you need to connect the neutral and ground wires inside a standard electrical plug. This allows the generator's neutral to be bonded to ground, which many surge protectors require for proper operation.
