Now that Open Range is owned by Jayco would it make any sense to add Open Range categories for discussion? We have Jayco Trailer, Jayco Fifth Wheel, etc. Or maybe in some way make it evident that Open Range is welcome to be included? Since Open Range has so far retained its own branding and doesn't even appear on the official Jayco website I think most people wouldn't realize they are now Jayco too. I wonder if Open Range owners would participate here if there was something to signify "them too" on this site. Or would that even be desired at this stage? Just wondering.

Big difference is that StarCraft are Jayco products rolling out of a Jayco factory.. identical trailers with a different name.

Open Range has nothing to do with Jayco other than Jayco now being the parent company; much like Entegra Motorcoaches. I'd vote for adding Entegra's before adding OR :)

ENTEGRA rolls out of the same building as the SENECAS, GREYHAWKS and PRECEPT. Starcraft has a seperate faciity in Topeka.

this is a Jayco owners site. It should stay that way.

That being said anyone can ask any question they want but they likely just wont get the info they want.

Like going to a GM forum to ask about issues with your Cummins. Somebody there likely will answer your question eventually but you would be better suited at a Cummins forum

If there is enough interest I suppose we could have a sticky thread dedicated to Open Range like the "Starcraft Owners Roll Call". But that would be about it. Since they have an Open Range forum, that would be the best place to ask questions specific to the brand, and as long as that is operating owners would likely join that forum to get info and not this one....

In the case of Starcraft, there was no forum for the owners so they asked to join this one. Many of the lines and models by Jayco and Starcraft had near identical dimensions and specs, just different graphics, interior decor and some other minor differences. For example the Jayflight and Autumn Ridge lines were pretty much the same. Have not checked lately to see if that is still the case.

Just an FYI STARCRAFT is back in the FW business effective with the 2015 model year.

I know you all don't want to hear this...but Open Range is a step up from Jayco. I looked at them and went with Jayco as less expensive as it would fit my needs. An example is the Open Range similar to mine, more expensive, but it was nicer and came with 16 inch tires and wheels...where I had to up grade mine my self. Open range actually has many rated for full timers. We should keep the forums separated.

Yes I looked at some of their TT`s online and they seem to be a higher end unit, and with the right options a true 4 season, full time capable RV. Heavier too. And of course with quality there is a price......

Since I was a Jayco owner when I joined this forum am I to be exiled since I bought an Open Range? J/K.

It would be cool to have a community mods page. There are many great minds out there and not all of them own a Jayco. Other than that I would say keep separate.

One doesn't have to own a Jayco to be a member of JOF, so everyone has the ability to post in the "Jayco Mods" forum, or any JOF forum for that matter.

I would venture to say that most "mods" are universal to all RV Manufactures products.

JOF has numerous members that don't own a Jayco product.

I am starting to realize a lot of trailers are a step up from Jayco.

Not an issues with quality just disappointing that they do not put the extra little things in their trailers that I have found on many others for the same price.
