RV Survey on Gas

Just watched a YouTube video where an RV couple did a survey of 1000 RV'ers about the gas situation. 60% said they were either cancelling their RV plans or RVing closer to home. Only 20% said they were keeping their original plans. They said the good thing about this was the RV parks would be less crowded. I only get 7 to 8 MPG on my Class C so I'll be staying close to home.

I'll be surprised if we really see less people this summer. The license plates may be from neighboring states instead of three or four states away but spots will be filled.

My neighbor is moving to Arizona in a few weeks he said it's only 102 degrees in the summer where he is going, he can live with that. He showed me a photo of the house and it looks great except all the lawns in this retirement community are stone, no grass to be seen. If I move someplace warm it's going to have grass and no worry of running out of water in the future. My wife doesn't remember but on one camping website they were selling full hookup dirt campsites, no grass, trees, bushes or plants for 25,000 dollars and a 99 year lease, It looked like in the middle of a desert. I can't imagine the heat in the summer. The fuel prices would probably astronomical in the middle of nowhere. Give me a temperate climate with low fuel costs

Dear Lord!! And I thought paying $4.09 for premium today for the DW's car was high!! That's just ridiculous!

Newsweek did a article on why it is high there. Cost to deliver there, only station around there.

I would hope RV people would watch for gas stations ahead of time, one website said there was another station 30 miles away, everyone should have enough fuel to make it 30 miles

What is your tax for, remember oil will be gone around 2050 not in our lifetime. Do we just say forget about our children and let them fend for themselves?

Hm, I was in 8th grade in about 1958. Our history teacher told us the known oil reserves at that time would run out in 15 years. I have no idea if he was BSing us but if not, then are we sure that we know where all the oil left in the world is located? Apparently someone thought they did in 1958.

Granted we need to work towards better management of our resources.

New oil fields have been discovered, and existing oil fields that were once depleted have replenished themselves which many years (20~30+) was believed to not be possible. Many who study this now believe that hydrocarbons are natural to the planet and are continuously rising up from deep within the earth, much deeper than what is believed to be from the age of the dinosaurs. This all makes sense to me as NASA also has confirmed that they have determined that there is more natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons on one of Saturn's moons (Titan) than believed to be on\in the earth. It is also believed that no dinosaurs have ever existed on Titan. Not too mention that Hydrogen (chief component of hydrocarbons) makes up ~90% of the entire universe... at least it is that scientist have reason to believe this is true.

Hydrocarbons are kind of like diamonds imo, if everyone believes they are extremely rare, then that rarity (or the belief of rarity) allows for higher prices and profits.

Can't afford the prices they are selling electric trucks for. The new Chevy Silverado electric truck will set you back at 100 grand.
