Our TV turns on by itself?

We have a Jayco 26RLS and the strangest thing keeps happening. Our Furrion TV in the living room keeps turning on and off by itself. It will turn on by itself for a few hours then just turn off by itself. Sometimes it is only stays on for a few minutes. We removed the batteries from the remote and it still happens. Does anyone else have this problem?

We don't have a tv in our TT, but a few things come to mind.
1) You're experiencing power surges.
2) A timer on the tv has been activated somehow.
3) The tv is failing already.
4) Aliens or poltergeists.
5) Just kidding on #4

I truly don't have a definitive answer for you. Perhaps someone that has had this happen will chime in for you. Maybe unplug it for a while, and see if it self-repairs. That always works with my computer printer.

Might be...

I had something similar happening with the OEM Jensen entertainment system in my Jayco. The radio would just come on all by itself and then later turn off, same as you TV. What was happening is that some how an alarm clock feature of the radio was accidently switched on. Maybe you TV has some feature similar to the alarm clock my Jensen system has. It's just a guess, but at least one TV I owned in the past had such a feature.

Do you have second remote under your cushion in the sofa, haha.

Seriously, .....it’s got to be a timer issue.

Start with easy! We use to own tv and satellite companies and had this issue more than one would think. Change the remote batteries and remove it from the area as a trial. Something easy to do to eliminate what use to be a pesky problem

Does this only happen during the day? We had a similar problem years ago and found out the sunlight was making the TV turn on and off.
What I would do first is put a piece of tape over the IR sensor on the TV to see if the problem goes away. If it does, then you know you are getting some type of IR signal from somewhere. If the problem still exists then there's an issue internally with the TV.

Danno, that’s a great idea. It could be the neighbors remote, an Xbox remote, a portable stereo remote, even a remote for candles or outside lighting. There are only so many frequencies available.

Our Furrion TV

Our Furrion does it occasionally.
Not frequently enough to wig me out, but it does happen.

I've noticed that I do NOT have to push the On/Off button on ours. Simply touching it is enough to power on/off the TV. So there's a capacitive sense circuit. If not tweaked / tuned it could be sensing any change as a touch.

If I'm right - I have no idea what to do to change it.
But you'd expect things like humidity would affect it.

My 2008 Winnebago Jensen TV did that. Would randomly turn on while parked at the house. Jensen send me a flash kit to update the firmware and the TV worked fine after that.

We have a remote control fan and the TV remote will cause it to start doing weird things if it's in proximity. Any RF remote could potentially be causing it.

We found out that our radio and TV remotes are on the same frequency.

The solution was to hang a vinyl cover over the radio so the "eye" was covered when we watched TV, and to unplug the TV when we used the radio.

My parents had a remote controlled TV that kept switching channels... every time my mother used her shoulder exerciser- a cord and pulley setup. Seems that at times it emitted the correct frequency the TV recognized.
They had another that kept turning itself on- the alarm was set for around 3AM. Since my mother is hard of hearing, the volume was up to 'blast' setting. Woke them up for several days till they told me what it was doing.
When I was a kid, I was the remote.
