We have a fairly strong musty smell that developed literally overnight. We have looked everywhere for signs of water leaks, but can't find any evidence. We just had a roof inspection 2 weeks ago and just a couple small areas were resealed. I've seen that it COULD be one of the air conditioners, but don't really know how to check. Any advice?

If you could find someone with one of those meters that measures moisture and run it along the seams inside you could probably find it.

I've seen them priced from about $30-$600 and I can't say how well the cheap units work.

I keep a dehumidifier in my motorhome years around to keep the humidity at bay. I live the PNW where the winters are 100% humidity for 8 months out of the year and my 10 yo rig still has no aroma. I know you're on a quest to find a leak but depending on where you live, it could be simply the high humidity outside. I've gone through a lot of dehumidifiers over the years and I've only found one that meets my criteria of being efficient and quiet. It will dehumidify down to 32 degrees. It will heat the space up slightly as it uses a 450 watt heater to make it work properly. Good luck on your search for a solution.
