Pahrump, NV campgrounds

We are looking at going to Pahrump, NV, in late Sept. during the Pahrump Fall Festival. First of all, how's the weather at that time?....still too hot to enjoy?
Lakeside CG and Casino sounds like a great CG...anybody been there and have any comments about that CG or recommend other CG in Pahrump? Also, other than Vegas trip, what are the fun things to do for an active retried couple?

Quite a few nice places to stay...we like Wine Ridge when in the area.

September temps are starting to cool down...probably mid-90's.
