PDI (Pre-delivery Inspection for purchasing RV's) Checklist with bullets - updated

They still haven’t changed that in the 2020 we bought. A simple raise of the cabinet would have been an easy fix if Jayco actually listened to their customers.
 
You can also add to remove a couple screws from under the slide outs to look for water damage. Rusty screws are a clue. This is what I found after getting home with my 2016 Jayco. All 3 slides. Luckily La Mesa had a 20 day warranty period which I was able to use for repairs. The leak was coming from what they call the picture frame molding on the slide. Recaulked all the joints and good to go. As the slide goes in the rubber seals put pressure on the joint loosening it over time. Added to yearly maintenance. You can see where someone tried to add caulk underneath to fix it. That just sealed the water in.

I took some time to improve on the already great PDI Checklist that Bluestreak put together. I formed it into categories and used check boxes to make it a little easier to follow.

I just took delivery this past weekend and used it. It was a pretty smooth process using this copy.

I added a couple screen shots so you can see what it looks like before you download the complete form, which is a total of 11 pages including the facer page.

I hope people can get some good use out of it!

The most important advice I would give is DO NOT take delivery UNTIL EVERY item identified in your PDI has been resolved. We bought a Seneca 37K in February 2025, found 3 issues during PDI that Dealer said would be fixed in a couple of weeks once parts delivered. Here we are now in May - no parts. Dealer blames Jayco, Jayco blames their supplier. We’re left waiting…….,
