Hi All,

My family and I live in UT and we are picking up our new G2 29BHS tomorrow (Saturday, Feb 12). Still a little cold where we live but we already have the itch to get out.

This will be our 2nd Jayco and our third camping trailer. We bought our first Jayco in June of 2005. It was an 05 Jayco 27BH. We loved it, had it for 4 years. Decided to get something bigger. We sold the 27BH and bought a Laredo 33ft 5th wheel. We like the size and space but hated the fit and finish! We where always comparing it to our our first Jayco. Last summer we sold the Laredo and have had the itch ever since to get another camping trailer. So we recently saw the 2010 models on clearance at one of the local dealers so we went and looked and made a deal.

Already have a few mods planned. I always switch to a Digital thermostat. Ordered the Hunter 44260 it's a 10 minute job to switch. Then I ordered the JT Strongarm stabilizers. We don't like a rig that moves when our kids move!

In our 05 Jayco, i switched out the single stage converter to a triple stage but I understand our new rig already has a triple stage converter so we are set there.

We also bought the new rig with 6 volt batteries right off the bat this time too. I love the much better battery life on the 6 volts vs 12.

Well thats all for now.

Welcome! That`s a very popular floorplan here on the forum lately between the 29BHS and the dimensionally identical but slightly less glamorous sister 28BHS! We love ours! That`s a Nice TV ya got to pull it with also. Enjoy.

Hey Crabman,

Didn’t realize the 28BHS and the 29BHS G2 were the same exact thing floor plan wise. We went with the G2 because we loved the power awning on our Laredo and the wife likes the nicer door panels. Isn't that the main differences between the G2 and the non version?

They are identical floorplans and have the same specs. The G2 may be a few lbs heavier due to options. The G2 version has more upgrades like carpet, wallpaper border, stove cover, electric awning, TV, raised panel doors, fancier lighting , tinted glass, and a few others also. Structurally they are the same and have the same appliances.
Jayco seems to sell a bunch of them both ways along with the very popular 26BH model, not available as a G2. ITs just a matter of preference and how much you wanna spend I guess. They are both great family trailers.

Welcome to the Jayco Owners Forum BBhoth! We opted for the G2 29bhs because it was "loaded" although we still had to add some options. The only complaint I have is that I don't care for the 70's brown wheat decor in our 2010... besides the flat pitched electric awning, that's really the only thing I don't like. I'm looking forward to seeing what mods you post here :)

We got the cinnamon color scheme, its a little darker then the wheat. Probably next few mods will be a memory foam topper on the queen master bed and changing a few maybe all the type 921 bulbs to LED's because we do more than 50 percent dry camping. Will also be adding a rear receiver to pull doubles with. We tow a 7'x10' flat bed with 2 dirt bikes and 2 four wheelers.

We also chose the cinnamon color scheme over the other two choices. The DW is happy with it so that makes me automatically happy ! I think it goes well with the oak cabinets and the vinyl floor colors. Having 3 kids, all boys, was another reason for choosing the 28BHS with its all vinyl floor as opposed to carpet.

Welcome to the forum! You'll find a lot of helpful folks here. Looks like you've already got a lot of knowledge about camping.

Hey Healthi,

Just curious what make and model of 22 inch Television did your 2010 G2 29BHS come with? Ours came with an RCA 22 inch TV. There was no owners manual and no remote control. I think I will call Jayco customer service tomorrow, they can look up every component that was installed.

The chrome hub cap covers are not on the rig, the spare tire cover was missing and the glass turntable in the microwave was missing.

We did not do an official walkthrough on our new rig as the dealer we bought it from charges $100. Since this was our third camper, we opted to not pay for this.

When we ordered our tt, we opted to have all vinyl... can you believe they charged $35 to keep the carpet out of the living area!? *sheesh* But not having carpet out there is great as it's easier to clean a rug :)

Yes, RCA 22". We received paperwork/OM on all appliances/electronics that came with the tt.

$100 for the walk-thru? Maybe we should have a forum here to announce dealer's who nickle and dime you, threaten that your warranty won't be honored at their facility if you don't buy with them, etc etc!

Definitely call Jayco and speak to a supervisor if your dealer doesn't supply the missing items. GOod luck :)

That is a little strange that they charge extra to delete the carpet considering the vinyl goes down first anyway. I also agree about the charge for a walk thru, that`s a new one on me. You would think if you spend X thousand dollars with a dealer the pre delivery walk thru/inspection would be automatic. In fact, where I bought my trailer I was told you have to do a walk thru/inspection at their facility before you can pick it up or have it delivered as Jayco requires this. Then I signed document saying that everything was explained to me and met my satisfaction.

Did you get a remote control for the RCA TV?

By having no hub cap covers, spare tire cover, tv remote or microwave glass it seems this dealer also did not do the traditional "dealer prep" which would have discovered and rectified these issues before customer pickup.

Well they handed me a checklist but it seems that they just went through the checklist without doing the items. I will be having a talk with our salesguy as soon as they open this morning.

Well I feel a little stupid now, my salesguy called me later in the afternoon and he said they looked all over for the missing items and could not find them anywhere. He asked me if I had looked under the master bed and I said no. So I went and looked under the bed and sure enough all of the items we were missing were there.

Now I noticed something new the fan in the converter is making a pretty loud squealing noise. Has anyone else had a problem with a loud fan in the converter?

Don't feel stupid. 'Dealer Prep' should have taken those items and placed them where they should have been. I think the only thing that was under our bed was the satelite in box. All paperwork and remote was in an envelope :)
