Warranty claim #1 immediately following my PDI/Demo.

Symptom - Airbag warning light illuminated

Ford's Diagnosis - Jayco pinched the wiring harness when they placed the "house" onto the chassis.

Ford's Repair steps and estimate - Wiring will have to be cut and rerouted to prevent this condition. ~$500 to $600 to repair.

Waiting on call back from my local dealer to see if Jayco will approve the Warranty claim allowing me to avoid any out of pocket expenses.

When I called Jayco directly, they told me that they i would have to pay for the repairs and then they would reimburse me. Not the answer I wanted to hear.

Thats not right at all. You should have dropped it off at your jayco dealer then the dealer would make the determination to bring to ford and drive it their that way you wont have to pay out of pocket. Just my opnion on how it should work. Why should you be the middleman between two companies. Though im sure Jayco will pay you back no problem. Sorry you had a bad first experince with the new motorhome.

Dealer had me drive it to ford as they perceived it as a chassis issue. The following day when Ford called back with their analysis, I couldn't get the service department to answer for over an hour so I called Jayco directly. When Jayco gave me their stock answer, I began calling the dealer service dept. My dealer gave me a ray of hope yesterday, but they have gone dark on me again. Meaning calls to the service department go to a voicemail consistently and I don't get a call until I make a stink to the operator.

Sometimes thats what you have to do with dealerships the squeeky wheel gets greased.

RV Dealership called me this AM (this call was promised yesterday morning BTW), to say that jayco approved the repair and Gator Ford can proceed with the repair. Now I need to get a time estimate.

Not looking to burn any bridges at all.

Ford just called and it is all squared away and paid for.

:D:cool:

Hi, hope all well with electrical problem now. I have the same issue with a 2016 Red hawk 26XD. Took to Ford who deals with trucks and RV. They traced to seat and said all fine. Said seats need to come out to check further. Said it was a Jayco Issue. Took to a Jayco dealer with approval From Jayco, customer Service. The Jayco dealer said they could not fine the problem. Jayco customer service said to take back to Ford. Went to a regular auto Ford dealer and they say it is a seat retentioners,. The first Ford dealer said it checked good. Now Ford cannot get part till March. So I hope they are not just switching out parts etc. Delaware Newbie
