I purchased a 2015 Jayco Jay Series 1007 UD popup that came with a non-powered roof vent. I would like to change it out with a powered roof vent, is that a job that I should be able to do myself or is that job best done at the dealer? I do have mechanical ability and I do have tools, I was more concerned with how the wires were run to the roof vent. Thoughts???

If a power roof vent was an option then the wires are probably already there. All you need to do is pull the trim piece off the ceiling and you may find the wires. If not, how close is the ceiling light? You may be able to get power from there.

Wow, this is my first popup, so I did not think that the wiring might already be there. I won't be opening the camper until spring, but I will investigate that possibility just as soon as I open it up. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Either way, you need to clean the roof and reseal with a good self leveling clauk. Someone on here will have the brand name.

Thanks for the advice, Bill! Once I open the camper in the spring, I'll find out of the wiring is already there, then I'll find a vent fan that fits the existing opening and when I install it, I'll use a high-qualiity self-leveling caulk.
