Power lift problem. Goes up BUT Not down

I have a 2017 1007 pop up.

The power lift has been a pain from the start. Seller was not truthful about the problems.

So I had redone the grounds.

We have a new battery but I hooked jumper cables to my truck and got 13+volts. Still nothing.

I know the switch is working as I tested with a light.

The safety switch is working.

The fuse is not blown inside the trailer.

There is a 40a fuse exterior close to battery that is not blow either.

The roof with go up but sometimes it doesn't want to do anything.

The roof will not go down though.



Do you think it is a motor issue?

Do you think this is a lippert pop up controller issue?

I have seen folks mention getting a larger fuse near battery but I am not sure if that applies to up popup.

Really appreciate any help. I have read a bunch of old stale threads but I wanted to start up a new one for this specific model year.

Lippert and jayco will be the next step.
Was hoping that someone may have had a similar issue and knew the fix.

Apply power directly to the motor while mid travel. Then reverse polarity. If it moves only one direction there is a motor issue. Moves both directions likely not a motor issue.

Reversed wiring and motor moves in both directions.

At this point it's feeling like the lippert controller may be the issue. They ain't cheap so I've reached out to their customer service team for ideas.

The product number is now considered the 'tv lift' so I've also ask for confirmation that the new version will work.

You might have some kind of safety switch somewhere.
How many wires into the controller? Simpleton would think 2? For incoming power, and 2 more for the motor. If more there could be a switch.

Sorry for the delay and thanks for engaging.

The controller has direct connection to battery (positive and ground).

It has power to motor.

It has switch connections.

There are a couple limiter relays I think to stop it from going to far up and down.

8 wires total.

Test switches. Start with the closed switch.

We had tried. I had my wife hold down the safety switch by the door. I then held the relays and placed tester on the exposed wires of the controller but nothing happened.

Either I was doing it wrong or it was the controller not working. Got busy, but will try again.

Lippert replied to my email and said it could be the controller but I'd have to call a technician to confirm.

How coincidental. We have a 2020 29RKS that has been stationary at a seasonal camp since April of '21. Now looking at a new TT. In prepping for the move I noted that the electric tongue jack is not working.. Turns out that the tech who looked at it said that moisture has corroded the motors interior wiring and now have a "dead short". So probably need a new motor. POOP.

Update on my unit.

We left the top open bit to dry it out as there was some moisture. Top was open maybe 5 days.

Wife went to close it and thought she'd try the down button and it worked....

Hmmmm

I am properly confused now.

Think the motor is just weak? Anyone know of more powerful motors that could be used to replace current?

I am at a loss on how to permanently fix the issue.

I will try that too. Not hard to get the cover off and take a hair dryer to it. Cant hurt anything but may fix the problem.
