Have any of you added hooks in the pass-thru storage compartments to retain larger heavier items on the upper ledge? Since it appears that you can't get behind any of those wall, I was wondering if you can apply a screw-in type hook or cleat to strap down stuff.

We have a couple of longer items that will need to be stored in those compartments but will need strapped down for travel. Just wondering what others have done. Thanks :)

Steve, I used sticky back hook and loop for our folding zero gravity lounge chairs. They fit great in the space. We have failed to hook the Velcro on several occasions and upon arrival, the chairs were right where we put them. I also have a fold up 10X10 canopy in it's bag and a foldup camp table stored in the pass thru areas.
Very little side to side movement of the gear.
The space may look pretty narrow but quite adequate for our "stuff".

I used some tie downs from Home Depot. Used 1/4 inch x 3/4 bolts with lock washers and fender washers and drilled through the bottom of the compartments (the plastic part) to mount. Works great with bungies.

Great idea.... Thanks :)

I had considered drilling a few drain holes in some of mine. Especially the water hook-up compartment. Anyone done this?

Like you would have on a boat for draining live well or any compartments that get water in them. Really just a valve instead of an open hole. Don't want to give mice any type of head start by leaving even the smallest hole.
