Propane help

Hi, guys! My name is Matt and I’ve recently been blessed with a Jayco eagle SL 234. It’s an older model, from the mid 90’s, but I’ve definitely fixed it up the best I could. Right now, im actually living in it and im trying to get it ready for the winter. I have 2 twenty pound tanks hooked up but I can’t figure out how to get the furnace or the hot water heater working. I know it’s getting gas because the stove works but the self lighting ignitions won’t come on on the furnace or the tank.. would anyone be able to give me any advice?

There are a ton of youtubes on furnace and fridge lighting.

Before a really good answer is possible please post the brand and if possible the model number of each.
If you can check the pilot/burner area and all things around it for wasp nests, mouse, etc. Many hot water heaters have a manual lighting system with a button for pilot start and using a gas match. Furnaces often have many different problems. If it not even trying to start (clicking, fan start, no heat) than it could be a bad thermostat or fuse. Get the model numbers, help will be more specific then.

Don't know if this will help, but I occasionally had problems with the water heater not firing up. I could drop the outside panel and hit it with a can of pressurized air. That always did it for me. I never was able to see a cobweb or spider or any other obstruction but it did the job. Can't help with the furnace as I never had a problem with that but if it works for the water heater, it might work with the furnace.
