Propane tank sensors.

Hello all, my wife and I just purchased the MOPEKA Pro little round disk tank sensor. I got it all set up and we think it works great!! I have a couple of questions to throw out there in case there are some of you with more experience with this product.
My first question is, should I remove the sensors from the tanks during travel and in between trips, or are they durable enough to stay on the tanks during those times?
Secondly, since we have two 20lb. tanks do you move the sensor between tanks when one empties or is it more practical to have a sensor on both tanks? They are about 60 bucks apiece. Anyone out there with wisdom on these sensors please enlighten me. Thank you.

Are you planning on waiting until you need to fill both tanks? If so, then you should have save sensors on both. If you will almost immediately refill the empty tank than leaving it on one will work.

Well I guess I hadn’t thought about that way. What you say makes sense but my primary thought for having a reliable sensor was to avoid running out of propane at those extremely inconvenient times. Good point.
I guess my question of removing the sensor before traveling and while in between trips was the main one that I was looking for advice on.

I think you will find that spending the $60 to have it on both tanks is more than worth the time and effort to install and align them every time you switch it from one tank to the other. I out them on our tanks last spring and they have been over several thousand miles with no issues staying in place.

I love them on my tanks and I have a piece of Gorilla tape over it to keep it from falling off. So far no issues.

I use the Mopeka sensors. They work great.

I have them connected to my Victron Cerbo. I ran the generator for 5 hours on the front tank.

I would just leave the on one tank and refill it when empty while using the other tank. When the second tank is empty just remember to fill it. When the monitored tank is low, double check the second one that you filled it.

With two tanks as long as you refill within a few days to weeks depending on usage you won't ever run out.

I've had the Mopeka tank check on my tanks for five years, never an issue. Always there. Magnets are strong.

Sensors

We use gorilla tape as security and peace of mind. I have them on all my tanks - so much easier than constantly moving it from one to another

I mounted the Mopeka propane sensors on both our 30# tanks about 3 years ago and never took them off except to change the sensor batteries last fall. Never used tape to hold them in place, the magnets are more than capable to keep them in place. The Mopeka propane sensor system works great every time and takes all the guess work on the everchanging propane levels.

We have used them for years. Never had one fall off. Biggest complaint is the batteries don’t last too long.
It is nice to have one on each tank.

they dont fall off

I've had them on my 30# cylinders for 5 years. Never have had one come off. What I have had though is problems with a couple of them just never working consistently or eating batteries in a couple of weeks (even when set to slow refresh). Curiously one that I put on last summer and just left on the tank all winter during storage, still read this spring after nearly a year. Couldn't believe it.
