New 2013 298 RLDS Eagle. When you pull the 30amp fuse in the battery box it does not kill power to the camper. On my 2010 model it did, dealer is going to call Jayco Monday. Has anyone else heard of this ??
I even unhooked the green wire that holds the fuse from the battery still power to the camper. What is that wire and fuse for ?? Everything works fine.
If you are unhooked from shore power and have disconnected the positive battery terminal from your battery and you still have ceiling lights then you must have another battery installed somewhere.
Both the shore power and the on-board 12VDC Battery feed your 12VDC Distribution Panel.
I don't know about your specific unit but on my old trailer that 30 amp fuse was for converter to charge the batteries. There are other wires that provide power to the 12 Volt distribution panel.
That 30Amp fuse at the battery works both ways, if the converter starts to push out more than 30 amps (bad battery) the fuse will blow. If the trailer battery controller starts drawing more than 30amps (controller shorts out, short in wire..) that same fuse will blow. On my 2013 Eagle 284BHS there was only one wire from the battery that went through the fuse (then a 4x4 electrical box) and back to the TT's charge controller.

Welcome to the forum. If you remove the cables from the battery terminals you should not have power going in. I`m stumped though as to why pulling the fuse would not work unless that is not the only wire coming from the positive side of the battery.
Also just to confirm you do not have the trailer plugged into shore power, correct? Because if you do the converter will still give you power in the trailer even with NO battery connected.
Not connected to shore power. Two wires on the positive side, the main black positive power wire, and a green wire with the fuse in it. Both connect to the battery as seperate wires. Thanks, BT.
The fuse on our 2015 Jayflight is for the power jack. The dealer told us it would kill the power but the we found out it didn't. We just take the negative wire off when the trailer is not in use.
There are actually two fuses, one is an old style inline fuse that is just for the power jack.
That is all fine, its the other 30 amp in question. But I really think your on to something with unhooking the negative cable. Not so sure anything is wrong, maybe they have changed the way they are wired.
No word from Jayco yet, but the dealer checked another TT just like mine and said it was wired the same way. Possible reason is when the fuse is pulled it disables the emergency brakes, maybe a safety concern ? Will call tmro and see what Jayco may have said.
