Found a small crack in our water pump, putting out a fine mist of water. We don't have one of those complicated water panels, just a city/tank diverter valve, and additional winterizing valves behind a wall.
I ordered a new pump, still waiting for it, and was happy to find a valve next to the pump that I could shut off, and stop the leak, while still using city water pressure.
That was yesterday. This morning our fresh water tank was overflowing with a slow, steady drip.
I think the water can only get into the tank through the City/tank valve or backwards through the water pump.
I had previously put a check valve on the pump for the same issue.
I'm thinking that my city/tank valve must be leaking as well, sending water to the tank. Does that make sense? Maybe the valve near the pump that I turned is sending water to the tank? If it is, it's just a trickle.
It's coming up on 6 years old, so I went ahead and ordered that diverter valve as well.
