Question on download

Hi there:

Being a newbie to the Jayco Forums, I will navigate the system to stay within the guidelines i.e, try not to break any rules.

When at HOME (on this board) there is an envelope, an exclamation point in red and a narrative about the inbox for messages. I would call these PMs, Private Messages.

A download is required. I'm sure this is OK, but I am double checking.

My son who is a Computer Tech would probably cringe, with me asking this question. I admit he is an expert. His Dad (me) is NOT.

If you mean this at the top of the page:

It is an ad and NOT part of this forum. I would not recommend downloading it. It is deceptive because it looks like it is related to forum private messaging. I have brought this to the attention of admin in the past but nothing was ever done about it.

Crabman, did you post a pic? If so, I can't see it. I just had another poster PM me this very question.

DONT download it! I made that mistake about a year ago and had all kinds of issues. Crabman and Snake are right, it's deceptive.

When you have new Pms you will se a small alert up in the top right corner of the forum just under your username (where it says Welcome) it will appear here:



You can click on it to view your inbox and no download is needed.

You can also access all your account features including your inbox by clicking on user cp on the upper nav bar or here: http://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/usercp.php

Then look over on the left side menu for various features.

The only time i have seen this is when i have not sighned in .... goes away aft sign in .
