Having returned after 6 weeks of travel in our '16 Greyhawk 29MV, I have to wonder if I may have errored.

While traveling we had, and took the opportunity to sleep over night at several Walmarts, Flying J's, and a couple of other places. Because I'm 6'4", I sleep best when the rear slide is pushed out at least 6". That is what we did rather than extend the slides out to their full extension.

I'm now wondering. Is it safe to temporarily extend and retract the rear slide out just 6" rather than the full extension....???

 :)

The rear slide on your 29MV is a Lippert in wall system. You're supposed to fully extend or retract the slide every time. You're also supposed to hold the button for 3-5 seconds after doing so. This is to ensure the motors on both sides stay in sync.

You'll probably start having problems if you keep doing the half extension. If I were you, the next time I'm able I would fully extend the slide and hold that button for 5 Mississippi's. Do the same for retracting it.
