Hello, I'm looking at new x17z hybrids and curious if anyone has fabbed or had a receiver hitch made to fit the rear. My older starcraft did and I used it to put a bike rack on. I was under one today and doesn't look like much thick metal to use.
Any ideas?
First post also...tons of good info..

I did a ton of research on this and discussed options with my local Jayco service mechanic. I ended up going to a well-established welding shop. They removed the existing thin bumper and fabricated a new square bumper with an integrated 2" receiver, then installed it to the frame. It was expensive, but the work was top-notch and the hitch works great with our high-end Saris bike rack, absolutely no bounce or movement. I've seen and heard horror stories where people have used bolt-on receivers and cheap racks, and end up with problems.

Thanks for that info... thats the route I see possible too. I've got a trailer place near me that does fabrication, probably have to bring it down. Surprised no company has developed a safe bolt on hitch
