Something has chewed through the ~3’ long hose that runs from the regulator to the manifold.

I got the hose loose from the regulator, but cannot break the other end free. That end is a male brass going into what looks like an Al manifold. Looks like a red pipe dope was used.

Would like advice on how to get that end out of the manifold so I can install a replacement hose.

Red Loctite is a very high strength thread locker, and a bear to remove especially where you can't use heat to soften it up like near propane. Without going into a long stretch of possible solutions, just google "how to remove red loctite without heat" for some ideas on chemicals to try and soften or penetrate it. Not going to be fun at all, so let us know the outcome.

If you need to heat up the area, a heat gun held a little ways from the threads might be safe enough for a little persuasion. But I would imagine that since you are replacing the hose, a decent set of vice grips would be what I would try on the metal hanging out of the threaded inlet . Take a closer look at the threads and see if your threads are reversed in your setup and that you might be attempting to remove it in the wrong direction, Just a thought

The red sealant on the threads is probably not red Loctite, but it is most likely a red varnish sealant used in production that becomes hard over time. It is a bear to remove the fittings. As stated above, you can probably use a heat gun safely to help break the hold on the sealant and then use a good fitting wrench or vice grips to break it loose.

Just a quick note on the replacement hose: Had the same problem with critters chewing the hose. I replaced mine with a hose that has a steel spiral cover/shielding that keeps the critters away. Had it made up at the local hose shop for just a little more money than a direct replacement. Just take the old hose with you so that they can match the length and fittings when making up the new hose.

Is it the opposite of lefty loosy right tighty there?

Not really sure what connection yer referring to

I got a pair of stainless covered hoses on Amazon. Buy them a bit longer than you need to allow for future changes.
Some gases have reversed thread but I don't think my LP fittings were but worth checking.

1. It is 5’ long hose
2. It is right hand thread
3. I agree that it does not really look like Loctite to me.
4. I had a friend, younger and stronger than I remove it with my water pump pliers.
5. Some difficulty finding a replacement in a timely manner.
6. MB Sturgis makes a replacement, but it is 3/8” ID, rather than 1/2”.
7. I am having a local propane company come out Monday.
8. The nearest Camping World was no help, but it is Sat, and the regular parts guy was not there.
9. Would love to find some with SST braiding on outside. But, there are still the other 4 hoses leaving the manifold, and going to the appliances.

Check the o.d. of the old line and then check the i.d. of a washer and dryer braided hose and see if it will slide inside for a cheap alternative.
