I have a 2021 Pinnacle with a burning desire to pull out the Junky JBL AURA and install a small receiver amp in the same location as the AURA unit. I'm asking for suggestions and recommendations from Pinnacle Owners custom work. I would like to use the speakers in the ceiling (but put better speakers in). Marantz makes a slim-line series of receivers which I used in my Motorhome and was pleased with the result but the existing space for the AURA will have to be modified (enlarged) to accommodate it.

We wanted a better sound system for our 2021 Pinnacle 36SSWS. We swapped out the JBL Aura unit for a home stereo unit that came with surround speakers. We had to cut out a little bit of the face board to fit the new unit in, and we put in a more sturdy shelf to hold the new unit. We installed the surround speakers behind our recliners, a better sub that isn’t behind the fireplace, and we added a switch box to still use the ceiling speakers and the outside speakers!! We didn’t swap those speakers out, we figured they are pretty good speakers. We were able to use most of the wiring harness and was able to utilize them with the switch box. We finished off the install with a thin black trim! Pretty easy to make the changes!

Who makes that Receiver? I've had good luck with Maranz Slim Line Receiver and would probably use it in this conversion. So you had to sacrifice the round speakers next to the JBL and put in a couple of bookshelf speakers. I like it

What did the shelf look like to support that Receiver...Pics

We got a Yahama home surround system. It’s nice and the sound quality is MUCH better! There was a little shelf that was there, it was pretty flimsy for the weight of the new receiver. We built a new shelf that was much sturdier. We wrapped it with the contact paper just to tone down the white primer paint. We also mounted the surround speakers above our recliners. We made the speaker wire longer and hid it around back to the head unit.
